I can see why you would have to check it out. If something similar had happened to my child and then another girl is missing in my area, I would do absolutely anything to help find her. Maybe I would be obsessed with it. The feeling of losing a child, the everyday agony he felt while his child was missing must have been awful. The news is filled with these types of parents searching for missing people. Perhaps he lied because he can't deal with his emotions. So many men feel they have to act tough. He could still be a creep...and a good guy at the same time. But hopefully not a killer.

Yeah, IMOO, think about how many of us feel broken for Mickey and for her family, even though many of us have never been in their shoes. I can't imagine how crazy it would be if I had been in her parents' shoes and I watched them going thru this. I have had personal experiences in which I felt empathy so strong for another individual (whose shoes I had been in) that even though I disliked that person very much at the time, I physically ached. Even now it is literally physically painful for me to think about that. In this case it was the nature of the experience...it was awful for me and when I thought of him having the same feelings and behaviors it was crushing.

This got me thinking, she wasn't feeling great that night, so what if she stopped somewhere for a breather because she was feeling she'd be sick? I know she refused a ride home, but she wouldn't be the first or the last person to think they were good to walk or bike a short distance but feel otherwise mid-trip.

I think the idea that she stopped at Walgreen's is something to consider. Maybe she stopped to get Pepto Bismol (sp?) and a graduation card, and she was attacked in the parking lot.

I thought that there was no film of her further than St Landry? Or is that all LE has released? I think mamamia & I hashed over that some time ago. No othe film o pics wer ever spoken of.

I'm going to re-open the thread, but I caution everyone to stop with the baiting comments and questions that cannot be answered here.

I think the Walgreens thing deserves a closer look---no cameras in the store? Any outside the store?
What if something happened inside the store?
:what:

Years ago, someone called in on one of my veteran truck drivers for emptying a urine bottle (very common in trucking) in what my driver thought was an isolated area. He had been driving for over 40 years. When he and I were talking about someone reporting it, he was telling me how difficult it is to do anything without someone noticing. Other drivers made similar comments over the years.

I can see the abduction of Holly Bobo going unnoticed due to her isolated environment, but people even heard her screaming. But with Mickey Shunick's abduction happening in a relatively densely populated area, it's extremely likely there are people who saw or heard something, but aren't reporting it.

It makes me think there's a possibility the abductor could be someone who looks like someone you wouldn't want to tattletail on, who you wouldn't want to look at face to face in the courtroom or have your name on record reporting.

It's too bad they don't wear a hoodie and go on foot and drop an anonymous letter into a postal box, handling the stationery with latex gloves or whatever they need to do to drop the dime while protecting their identity.

Island hopper, you are very perceptive. An almost identical incident happend to me about 5 years ago. It wasn't my daughter, but could have been. My career was as a first responder and I had experienced many tragedies with multiple fatalities, but none that affected me like this innocent abduction victim.
I began a very dark journey backtracking & researching the predator/abductor, which turned out to be a prolific serial killer, active for 4 decades, in multiple states, with multiple victim profiles.

This poi scenario resulting in diagnosis, suspicion, etc., is deja vu..
The psychopathic predator responsible for Mickey Schunick's abduction will not be obvious, but stealth, as is a chameleon, imo.

Other than Wal-Greens or Circle K, is there any place that you (anyone) think that she would've considered stopping for a moment if she did feel sick? (Of course I guess if you start to be sick you can't be choosy.)

If I am riding, it is determined by the amount of traffic. I became sick once with really bad stomach cramps while I was riding. It was in a local neighbor hood that is off the beaten path. Traffic is rare. I stopped right on the side of the road. Perhaps Mickey felt secure that traffic was light enough to stop on the side of the road and was hit.

If traffic is high, I would stop in a parking lot or on a sidewalk.

Where is Walgreens coming from? Just b/c TP got dropped off there? There are so many places b/t where she was last seen and WAGS, that she would have been seen on video.

Mental health isn't an immediate way of eliminating a suspect. If anything you need to look deeper and think outside the box of a suspect with such an impairment. If it seems to organized, or too unorganized then there's actually organization within the disorganization. The brain is a complex thing. If being clumsy and leaving a trail behind seems so to you, it most likely isn't to a suspect. Their lives may be so unorganized that it has become the new "normal" for them. And depending on their treatment or lack of treatment, they can adapt and become so clever that it would appear to be the work of someone without any mental health issues...lol sorry if this seems confusing

~ Does this mean we can't eliminate the horse from being a suspect? :dunno:

Is the damage reported to her rear wheel consistent with an automotive impact or could it possibly have been damaged when it was disposed of? Sorry in advance if this has been addressed. I was thinking along the lines of Mickey stopping and getting off her bike at some point (possibly because she felt sick) and then being abducted/robbed. Not stating this as a fact of course, just a hypothesis of mine.

Yeah, I am kind of thinking similarly. Feeling weak, or possibly even crouching down or bending over, would make her much more vulnerable!

LOL To me the Walgreens would have been a bit out of her way as further down when she would have gotten on Congress, there is a CVS on her route.

From reading this thread, I conclude my self diagnosis. It's clear to me that I have trust issues. Can't help it especially when I can't even see the peeps I'm 'talking' too.

Still, it's interesting hearing what everybody has to say.
