Knox- I think we are all a bit frustrated with the lack of voice from LE to the public on this. But your comments were not taken as overtly harsh (my opinion) on LE. We all want resolution and justice for this young mother - your passion for that is understandable.
I'm left with so many questions. Probably because we still haven't heard from LE on this case - only reporters and Nicole's poor mom have made statements concerning this case. Her mom confirmed the identity, not LE. With no word from LE, it leaves the public wondering about their progress. Surely, they have the answers to our questions, but are staying mum.
These are my current thoughts/questions:
Nicole's mom says she received a text message from Nicole around 11pm Sunday night. Does anyone know if the cell phone has been recovered, or if it too (along with her debit card and keys) was located at her townhome? The mom gave the impression that she thought Nicole was home when whatever happened to her occurred (abduction/confrontation with ex, or whatever). Wonder why she thought Nicole was home?
With such incomplete details - was Nicole driving her van that night? Did her mom hear her vehicle return? ...and what did that last text say? Why did the mom fail to mention the ex? Did she and was it edited out or did LE instruct her not to? Where is the ex, now? why didn't LE question the ex last Monday (when the missing person report was filed? or, did they - I, too am hoping that LE has a better grip on this than is evident.
After living here since 2000, my experience is that St Tammany LE has always been tight lipped on their case work. One example is the discovery last year of a missing young man (car and body found in / near bayou, below a small bridge; what's eerie is that this accident occurred at the entrance to my neighborhood); only brief mentions of his disappearance - no local search made known to the public - and once found (by a jogger) a brief write up about his death (car accident related). His car went off Hwy 190 (Causeway Approach) in a well traveled area before 10pm- and NO one saw/reported the vehicle crash or the disturbance that his vehicle caused to the roadside/bridge and barriers. He was missing for months. This accident occurred within 2 miles of the state trooper's office.
All this to just say that I understand your comments and agree.
