two teachers in theate

the other teacher jumped on top to protect her, but he hit the one she jumped on

she was shot, but she went and pulled the fire alarm

Yea! I don't like this news story, but I do love stories of people who help in a crisis. Renews my confidence in others and reminds me the Good Guys are out there too.

Locals are reporting that HAZMAT is there and they told everyone to run? This is at Tiger Droppings again, not sure what's going on.

ETA: Also a report that Greenbrier (?) Condos across the street are being evacuated.

I feel like I'm going to vomit. :(

Legal analyst on CNN says since Aurora he never attends a movie theater without bringing a concealed weapon (he lives in GA where this is permitted). According to the website for the Grand Theater weapons are not allowed inside theater (is this by this State law?). I wonder if the fact that the Theater was a "no gun zone" made it a soft target (similar to the recruiting center shootings).

This hits too close for me. Years ago my husband and I moved to Lafayette for his work. We only stayed for about a year though he goes back almost monthly still but it's left such a mark on my heart, such a special place filled with some really great people. Lafayette is where Mickey Shunick went missing from, remember how amazing that community was in finding her?? Speaks volumes about the people there. Lots of love, lots of fun, lots of community. Also quite humid ;)

This saddens me so deeply but I have NO doubt the community will find strength in each other and overcome this tragedy. They are such hospitable, warm people and I am so deeply sorry this had to happen there.

Sending my prayers and love.

I think most theatres in the USA are gun-free and have been for years yet there have been very few shootings in them. I also don't see how someone would be able to return fire in a darkened theatre without shooting even more innocent viewers.

Just sickening. Getting to the point where you have to live every day as if it was your last one.

Officials say dog sniffing bomb "signaled" at gunman's vehicle but it appears investigators didn't find anything

One of the teachers was hit by a bullet, according to Jindal, but is expected to be OK. Another teacher pulled the fire alarm
