The owner of the pickup truck used in the New Orleans attack said he never met Shamsud-Din Jabbar before the truck was driven out of Houston.

The owner, who did not want to be named out of concern for his own safety, said he recognized his vehicle only when he saw a picture of it on the news Wednesday morning.
The man said he has rented out the 2023 Ford Lightning F-150, an electric truck, multiple times on Turo, the carsharing app, and that Jabbar used an unlock code to get into the vehicle in the first place.

That is true, but I would very much doubt they’d choose Bangor, Maine to commit a terrorist act, rather than just transiting through.

I know lone wolves are apt to strike anywhere, but organized terror groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda seem to focus on where they can kill the maximum amount of people.

Two skyscrapers, each 110 stories tall. Christmas markets right before the holiday. A party street on New Year’s Eve.

They want to make it hurt.

What I have read about Shamsud din Jabber, he had been through 2 marriages, which I suspect were unhappy marriages. He had financial problems as well. I would not be surprised that he is an injustice collector. Something we have seen in the past with other terrorists, mass murderers, serial killers, and bullies.

I'm not sure that the videos were posted to social media. The videos may have been left on his phone or computer.
The recordings appear to have been made while driving at night. The suspect is not visible because it is dark, but authorities believe the recordings were made as he drove from Texas to Louisiana, although the exact timing is not yet clear.

In the recordings the suspect makes reference to his divorce and how he had at first planned to gather his family for a “celebration” with the intention of killing them, two officials who had been briefed on the material in the recordings said. The suspect also talked about how he changed his plans and said that he joined ISIS. He referenced several dreams that he had about why he should be joining ISIS

BBM This makes more sense to me. I have been questioning the fact that barriers were down. Maybe LE removed the barriers but had police cars and police blocking. The way this went down may have not been his original plan. All JMO

I’m saddened and frustrated that the murderer could drive around the police cars and harm people. I am a Las Vegas local and for our NYE celebration, fire trucks and bollards block all entry. There would be no way you drive onto the Strip with a vehicle. Of course, there are many other terrible ways to terrorize and harm people, but this way would not be possible.

Texas LE doesn’t play. I wish they could cross state lines and help New Orleans. I’m from Louisiana and visit New Orleans often. LE is good at keeping relative peace during events at Mardi Gras and Saints games.Thankfully LA State Troopers and FBI stepped in immediately to gain control of the investigation.

The Blood Center (TBC) is calling on the community to donate blood following this morning’s terrorist attack in the French Quarter. Emergency blood drives are being organized. The Metairie Donor Center will be open today until 7 p.m., and all TBC locations will operate extended hours on Thursday, staying open until 7 p.m. A blood drive is also being coordinated with New Orleans EMS for tomorrow at TBC’s administrative offices at 2609 Canal Street
