I know the DM is allowed media, but I'd need a different source to believe this.
Possibly a different source from Trump too.

MOO JMO
Trump will have been heavily briefed by the FBI/police as part of the transition to him taking over, he will know the name of the suspect

Suspect jumped out of truck and opened fire. He was shot by LE. Apparently there were also viable explosives in vehicle. I'm also reading truck passed over southern border 2 days ago at Eagle Pass.

The suspect accused of plowing a truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street is named Shamsud Din Jabbar, according to a law enforcement source.

He's 42 years old. Police shot and killed him after the attack.

The source said he was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck.

President-elect Donald Trump also weighed in on the tragedy, calling it "pure evil."

"Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department. The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!" Trump wrote in a statement on his conservative social media platform.

I think knowing about the ISIS flag would be sufficient to suspect foreign involvement. Which doesn't mean that the suspect could not have lived in the US for years.

Sources told Fox News that the suspect who killed at least 10 and injured over 30 New Orleans partygoers drove his truck across the border through Eagle Pass, Texas, just two days ago.

Well that's BS considering it wasnt his truck. If he was illegally here, why would he cross back into mexico after renting the truck. Wouldnt that be a huge risk
You can rent trucks/cars then drive them thousands of miles and drop them off at a different rental. If it's close to the Texas border I'm guessing they allow the trucks to cross the border. So the guy could have rented a truck that already crossed

Could they have meant crossed the border meaning…. Crossing state borders into Louisiana?

The recent Christmas market attacker in Germany had also lived in the country for a long time before committing to terrorism.

Fox News has updated their headline and article saying that the truck crossed the border in November.

Unless he rented that truck all the way back in November, he wasn't the one driving it during the time period

If he is US-born, wouldn't he be considered home-grown rather than foreign?

Yeah, I updated my post with two paragraphs quoted from the article, where Fox said he was not believed to be the person who crossed the border in November.

If the vehicle was being rented out, who knows how many people have driven it (including across the border) in the past year and a half (it's a 2023 model).

I’m glad he’s dead, no jail, no appeals, saves tax payers lots.

@RossDellenger

Authorities are conducting a sweep of the Superdome as a precaution. The Sugar Bowl is still on schedule to be played tonight, as the New Orleans police chief suggested this morning.Officials are expected to hold their next briefing at 1 p.m. CT.

I think so. Maybe a blend, though, since he seems to have been "potentially" radicalized by ISIS terrorists.

True. How do you legislate against harmful religious indoctrination of your citizens?
