Fortunately for him, he has all the time in the world to get his law degrees... as many as he'd like. Could also study veterinary medicine.. funeral home incinerator director.. forensic photography.. engineering.. dramatic arts.. bachelor of commerce.. medical doctor.. whatever his heart fancies.. oh, as long as no co-op or hands-on experience is required!

Well, due to phone data, we can see MS was there on July 3/4. Since these guys didn't delete any other incriminating back-ups, I doubt they deleted an iPad file with SL name on it. I even wonder if they are aware these back-ups are happening or they just think they're getting tunes updated?

Not sure about that either. When you plug the iPad in it starts to sync or tells you that the device is not synced to this computer. To proceed you have to sync it. see the pic below



If you cancel, it just disconnects the device. If you accept, it syncs the device. This is confusing because if this is what indeed happened, the first backup should have been "SL's iPad" or whatever it was called. At this point Smich could have changed the name. What I assume happened is that Smich changed the name on the device itself, then plugged in to iTunes and backed up.

Apple ID and ITunes password are the same thing.

Kind of. Apple ID is an email address. Password is just that, a password to that account.

I remember the cop who visited Super Sucker compared the time stamp on the security video to the time on his phone and noted that it was 3 hours off, but he didn't document it well in his notes, so Millard's defence grilled him pretty hard about it.

Can't the filename for any backup be 'renamed' after the fact? (and it would not show a date of renaming?)

You could change the name of the file and date pretty easily, but I don't think iTunes uses the filename at all. For instance, if my backup file was named "Andrew's iPhone 12/10/17" and I changed the file name to "garbage", when I attempt to do a restore of my phone it would still say Andrew's iPhone / last backed up 12/10/17. The file name is just to be able to discern what the file is from the Finder.

It could be a clean-out tool. I used something similar when I worked at KFC as a teenager. It was used to clean out the grease sludge at the bottom of the pressure cooker.

Just wanted to address this IPad thing again. I seem to recall that Falconer said there were 44 entries on the IPad prior to July 4th that were not brought into evidence. Anyone else remember this? So I'd have to assume that those entries were found on a back up on DM's computer or SL's? I also seem to remember that there was an agreed statement of facts that the IPad in MS's room was the same IPad that SL loaned to LB. Anyone else remember this? So for some reason whatever was on that IPad prior to the Apple ID user being changed is being kept out. Does that make sense?

And with regard to MS asking for the Apple ID, I also assumed that when the IPad was hooked up on the morning of July 4th, the apple ID user account was changed. Now the only way to do that would be to have the password for the old user or do a complete recovery. So either they had that password, did a complete recovery or the IPad didn't have an Apple ID assigned to it. But it appears that DM's Apple ID, from his IPhone, was entered into the IPad. But at 9:55pm that evening, MS was asking for the password because he probably wanted to download an app. So it couldn't have been MS who set up the IPad in the morning or he'd have known the Apple ID password.

I'm wondering about the 44 files or entries too. THey must belong to Laura or Shawn? If they belong to Laura why not show that to prove it was being used by her? Maybe some are her sex videos and the Crown wanted those out? I do remember a statement of facts too. I think it;s because Smich will say DM gave him the ipad as a gift.

Don't know if this was discussed. Thinking of DM's comment about all the puss leaking out could be a description of LB decomposition.

Wasn't a point being made that the backups all went to the same place (but can you not *tell* your computer where exactly to back up your stuff to? ie one does not have to accept the default location), and that the name of the device determines the name of the backup file (but we can change the name of the backup file at will). If you restore a backup, would the computer not ask you, 'where is it and what is it called', assuming there could be more than one location, and more than one name of a file? This really has nothing to do with the case, I was just confused when those points were being made and trying to clarify.. in between tweets..

IMO that's exactly what it is. Below are a couple of pictures where you can see it strapped to the trailer in various places. Also, there's a door at the base of the incinerator that opens up, and that tool fits right inside to clean out the ashes.

Whatever he is up to, I think it also ties into his wonderful abilities to manipulate pics and videos. Perhaps it will become apparent eventually.
Although this wonderful judge has to give him leeway while representing himself, at least he has his number! IMO.

I believe what they were saying was to clarify some confusion in that Apple ID and ITunes login are the same thing...or you can read it as Apple ID password and ITunes password are the same things.
