Marlena Meneses is now talking about the ipad. She saw Millard and Smich deleting things from it, and #Millard told #Smich to give it to Meneses, but he kept it for himself, she says. She didn't see what they were deleting.

Meneses says she played on the iPad a lot. When did they get it? "It was definitely after they played with the incinerator. It was still nice outside. It wasn't cold."

How did it happen that way???

I'm disappointed in what she didn't know or remember. She was coached on what to say and remembered some of the details wrong. Obviously.

imo, cross will happen and then the Crown will re-question for clarity.
*adding...don't lose faith in her yet

Ya I forgot about Crown's chance to re-question. Maybe she's not the smoking gun for the night of the 3rd.

We were not let into the courtroom until the testimony had already begun, so I'm catching up. Meneses says she played on the iPad a lot. When did they get it? "It was definitely after they played with the incinerator. It was still nice outside. It wasn't cold." #LauraBabcock

It seems like a violation to proceed with the trial before allowing the reporters and the public to enter the courtroom. Can anyone shed some light on how or why this happened? I believe it's happened twice now in this trial.

It has happened twice that we know of - certainly worth asking questions imo.

those pics of MS proudly standing with the Eliminator rake with smile on his face, made me go back to remember his testiomony at his TB murder trial when he testified about what happened THAT night:

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 3m3 minutes ago
Millard asked "well he told me" to help him put Mr #Bosma into the Eliminator. "I told him I can't."

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 2m2 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario
Smich says Millard told him to help him put Bosma's body inside The Eliminator. 'I told him... I can't' his voice shaking #Bosma #HamOnt

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
He said he used his bad shoulder as an excuse, "but I didn't want to go anywhere near that." #Bosma

and some of us actually believed that (smh)

Out of curiosity, what was MM obviously coached on, by whom and what details were wrong?

I am starting to be concerned that the only strong evidence that the Crown has to link MS to the murder is the rap video and anecdotal information from the kids who came to the house. The photos link him to the disposal of 'something'. He has possession of LBs property. I really hope that the Crown has something more in their arsenal because I am starting to question whether the jury will find that the Crown has made a convincing enough argument to convict for M1.

MM does not come off as a highly intelligent witness and it is tough to tell if she was genuinely naive or was between a rock and a hard place with an abusive, drug addict boyfriend and no place to go. She may have seen and heard things that she would choose to forget.

My guess is that the policE would have been very hard on her and would have been able to get her to crack at some point if she actually had something worth sharing. In both trials she has not come off as arrogant or as if she is just playing dumb.

Justice for Laura and the Babcock family!

I wonder ... publication ban on info that is relevant to this trial but could also somehow relate to the upcoming trial in WM's death ?? Testimony may relate to both LB's death and WM's, but the jury wouldn't necessarily know the testimony would relate. The media might however and publicized info of the testimony could affect jury selection in WM's murder trial.

Not sure, but thinking on it.

Or maybe she was with them and doesn’t want us to know. Who knows with this bunch.

WM was sick and in a scooter? Is this just news to me? I wonder what he was suffering from? Can you imagine being ill in that home with all of the parties and drug taking? His life must have been a living hell.

Could somebody provide some clarification?

Laura told her parents that she was going on a trip. When Dellen allegedly picked her up at the Kipling Station on July 3, did she believe that her and Dellen were going on a trip and was she packed up and ready to go?

Most likely! I have an issue with it also, you're not alone. The cross-examination should have taken place today.

I'm getting really nervous. MM did great, and likely told all that she knew today with the crown, and previously with LE. I knew she had never met LB or even knew who she was. But I think we were all really hoping that the crown would ask about July, 3rd and 4th, 2012, in hopes that it would tie in MS to being at the house.

What did the crown really establish today? And what in the next 3-4 days is going to be introduced to tie MS to this murder?
One thing I don't recall seeing happen in the TB trial (I could be in wrong) is media not being allowed in the courtroom while testimony is happening. Can anyone recall this?

Is it possible questions were asked regarding July 3/4 when reporters were out of the room? And if so, why? Just a thought.

Eta I see others have had similar thoughts, was still catching up!

Lookinginto the case against MS has been bothering me so I’ve gone back and looked athis garage ‘confession’.
DesiLibertore testified that in the garage:

ShannonMartin
@ShannonMartinTV
Libertore says Smich told him in greater detail what "they did" --torching a body and throwing a phone in the lake.

ThenDavid Cronin testified about the same conversation:
LisaHepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews
"He killed a girl and burned her body and threw it in the lake,"Cronin says #Smich then pulled out his rap song and played it.

Isuspect that Dungey is going to argue that there was only one conversation thatthey both heard and surely if MS had admitted to a murder they both would haverecalled that and that the most he actually admitted to was burning a body andCronin is mistaken about the ‘killed’ part probably as a result of all thedrugs he’s been doing.

I'm afraid we need more on MS.

Was the dog video with the purple slippers brought up?

Suspect MM truly does not recall the night of 3 July 2012 - she was asked about that for the first time in May 2013 or so. There might not have been any triggers for her to recall anything unusual - no sights/sounds that imprinted in her memory as being odd or out of place. Likely business as usual - seems to me DM would see to that.

I don't know what I did/saw/heard on 3 July 2017 - about 4 1/2 months ago.

So very true! She was likely asked already and couldn’t recall anything of significance, so the crown thought it was best to not even introduce that line of questioning in front of the jury.

*sigh* I feel bad for the crown. It’s really not their fault. They have so little to work with given that the investigation took place so long after the crime occurred. I’m surprised and grateful that they have what they DO have, with all the text messages, cell phone data, pings, etc. I just so deeply hope justice will be served for LB and her family.

I doubt that he went down and up those stairs often.

The rap song is not good for MS.

Telling 2 guys about the murder is not good.

The phones being at Maplegate are not good.

Being in possession of LB's property is not good.

The texts themselves are not good and there are witnesses to back it up.

The Crown does not have to provide motive nor do they have to prove HOW someone was killed. They have to prove that a murder occurred and then prove who did it.

I have no trouble finding DM guilty. That's a no brainer.

MS, I'm not so sure. I'm hung up on the phone pings. I need clarification. If I can wrap my head around that, then I can find MS guilty as well. The Crown sure seems to think so.

MM testimony appears to confirm MS helping DM to put rapidly decomposing body into the incinerator for "testing". No questions from MS regarding the contents of the "spliff". No record of deer at this time. No mention of smell. Lots of hush hush comments from MS suggests complicity, plus his previous eagerness for wet product with bones to test, and no questions about staying out of sight upon arrival of victim at Maplegate on July 3rd.
MM doesn't appear too reliable on dates. That may be why she can't verify where she was when nothing significant happened to her.
It appears MS was already the established owner of the iPad when DM decided he should pass it on to MM. Maybe trying to ingratiate her to himself. One minion who didn't hold him in reverence.

BBM - like that one - could be very true.

A lot of after the fact evidence for MS imo (especially the rap video - he had to see LB on ashy stone in order to write that) - would like to see someone able to pinpoint something that points to before the fact knowledge. Maybe some of us are missing it?
