After re-reading the autopsy description of the ponytails and studying a drawing and then trying it on my own hair, I've come to the conclusion that the hair was styled like that for sleeping.

The style - two ponytails, one high on the head and the other low in back - keeps hair out of the way and as intact as possible (for next morning styling purposes), yet it's comfortable to sleep in because the ponytails don't interfere with any sleep position.

So I don't think the hairstyle is connected to the staging. It was probably tied in pontails while getting ready for bed, maybe even by JB herself, before all hell broke loose.

I disagree. The cord fiber evidence in JBR's bedroom suggests that everything that relates to JBR's state that differed from her state when put to bed, was determined by someone other than JBR.

That could include her diet, dress, hairstyle, etc.

After Patsy and John had gone to bed one of the perpetrators (Santa) let himself in through the kitchen door, bringing the (drugged) pineapple with him, emptied it into the bowl and fed it to JonBenet. A perpetrator also drew the red heart on the palm of her hand and tied her hair up in one extra hairtie to stop it from impeding the application of the neck ligature.

Aussie, although many mothers do turn a blind eye to their daughters molestation, I don't believe the intruder drew a red heart on JB's hand. That is the kind of thing I'd expect Patsy to do.

Not to mention it's going to be incredibly hard to molest a girl who is standing. Her legs are in the way.

Absolutely possible, it's how I was molested. I was wearing a short dress. My uncle called me over under the apricot tree in the back yard (the rest of the family had gone in the house), I had no idea of his intentions. My legs were not "together" and he blindsided me with his fingers.

It could have gotten there via secondary transfer from the kitchen knife that was found on the laundry area counter. Possible scenario: Patsy goes up from the basement to the kitchen to get a knife to cut the cord. She grabs the paring knife, takes it downstairs, cuts the cord with it and, in the process, the ends get frayed. It is then decided by either her or John that this knife isn't effective enough and a sharper one is needed. That is when the decision to use Burke's knife is made. She goes back upstairs with the kitchen knife straight to the 2nd floor, bypassing the kitchen on the 1st floor. She stops off at JonBenet's room to gather some things and wipes the knife off on the sheets. She then goes to the laundry area, sets the knife down on the counter, opens the cabinet, pulls out a package of Pull-Ups partway, and reaches back to retrieve Burke's Swiss Army knife. Burke's knife and the other items are then taken to the basement and the kitchen knife is left on the counter.

From the June 24, 1998 interrogation-

The fact that there's a large hemmorhage that starts right at the uncut garrote, suggests to me that JBR was alive when strangled by the garrote.
