If they truly wanted to be left alone, they would not have appeared on Greta, Nancy Grace, Larry King, the Today show, the ABC morning news, and every TV station in the greater Orlando area (on multiple occasions). Not to mention their public appearances at various charity functions.

They don't want to be left alone - they just don't want to be contradicted.
I cannot argue with that dianeB. but I will give Lee the benefit as he did at least try and stay out of the media, generally speaking,

I have always felt badly for Lee; I don't know why. His life is forever changed by what his sister did. At least we haven't seen him in the press lately telling lies. In the beginning, I do believe he was somewhat pulled into Casey's stories, but was sincerely trying to help LE, and for that he has been made fun of. Also, I hesitate to say this, but I have come to think in recent years that these makeshift 'memorials' that seem to appear wherever there is a disaster are somewhat cheesy and disrespectful. I know it is most people's intent to do something kind, I guess, but it is almost always done by people who did not know the victims. JMO.

There are two of these types of memorials of car accident victims very near my home (one on the street to my subdivision). They have both been very well-maintained for years. There are several others around town too. Some people are spending a lot of energy to decorate street light poles and makeshift crosses.

I have mixed feelings about those. sometimes I think they are odd. I don't think I'd want someone maintaining the site of my fatal car accident. But then I read something like this:

http://www.kmtv.com/Global/story.asp?s=7345106

and I realize that some families really need these memorials. (I live in Omaha. Amber Harris went to the school in my neighborhood.)

I can see where Lee, in a fit of anger over his grief, just wanted to be able to come and go to the house without having this tragedy rubbed in his face even more. He has to be grieving over his niece (and his crazy sister's involvment) and seeing the cross might have just sent him over the edge a bit.

Whoa! Hold yer horses there! I call JB many things (for the first few months, I called him and now I'm calling him cos it rhymes with his name. I will mock him (or anyone, for that matter!) for many things but never for his ethnicity. I suggest you ease up a bit....
That is an offense that will typically get you a TO. I suggest you go edit.
This is for everyones benefit. We use the correct names at this forum.

I agree with you there. But I think they may need some time to grieve before they start even thinking about being angry at Casey. I am sure they are all re-grouping their thoughts right now.

And based on prior history, they will probably still come out with some outrageous theories in an effort to believe their daughter/sister is not a monster. I believe I saw video today of Casey's defense team meeting with the family at their home. I am sure they are all trying to figure out "where do we go from here"?
You are oh so right....

Lawyers for Caylee's Mother Stand by Her Story in Planning Defense Strategy:

If this is Caylee Anthony, that doesn't mean Casey Anthony did anything to that child," Todd Black, a spokesman for Anthony's lead attorney, told FOXNews.com on Saturday. "That doesn't determine who or what caused the child's death."
Anthony is in jail accused of murdering Caylee, but Black said Anthony stands by her claim that she dropped off her 2-year-old daughter with a sitter in June and never saw her again. That won't change if it turns out the skull and bones belong to Caylee.

and more.....

Jiminy Christmas..this guy has been bad mouthed and accused of being the incestuous father of his dead niece. he has been harrassed, harrangued and everything else.
He probably doesn't want anything from anyone and is in a lot of grief. He probably sees the cross and flowers as a "we told you so"..because let's face it the people that left them have most likely been his detractors for some time now.
Look, I don't hold ol' Lee in high regard and I think the memorial was probably well intentioned, maybe not, don't know.

But is it really that hard to understand where this dude is coming from?

That's exactly right. Lee has had more than his share of harrassment over this case and now it appears Caylee really is dead. I know he loved her and is grieving. Give the guy a break.

Do you mean Casey and Jose? If so, then I just can't help but say how ethnically offensive that reference is. JB may be a complete xxxx in the court room, but that does not give us the right to mock his ethnicity.

:clap::clap::clap::clap: Thank you!!

In my opinion, I think that's a bit of a stretch. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Period. It can actually be that simple.

I don't know if Monica and Bill would agree with this.

I was going to let this go until you said "for our entertainment". I haven't been here for days, weeks, and months on end for "entertainment" from the A fam. I did not ask them to entertain me in any way. I would have preferred it if they had stayed away from the media and our eyesight actually. :furious: I hope they will follow the advice of a decent attorney (providing they now have found one) and stay out of the public view entirely.

This family has been attacked and criticized because of their OWN words and actions. Actions just like what Lee did today. They appreciate nothing or no one...no matter what people's intentions are.

I have been here to find Caylee and to bring her justice. PERIOD!

agree with you---it is their actions that have prompted the media --- even at Lacy's house there were make shift memorials and such...at least sp didn't remove those.....

however, they do appreciate the donations.....:bang:

Yes, there were 4 girls that were killed in a car accident when I was in high school on the highway outside of town. White crosses were placed where it happened and to this day 20 years later, they are still there, maintained, and when the flowers fade new ones replaced. Yes, for some, these memorials are very important.

EXACTLY!!!! Remember the last few moments of freedom for Casey when she was in the car with Cindy. What does Cindy do? Pull over, get out of her car, and yell at a reporter threatening not to give her any more exclusives.

I can see both sides of the fence here with all your opinions. I feel bad for the person who spent the money on the memorial and came to place it there for Caylee- bet he or she isnt too thrilled- I think he could of just ignored it and went on being it was for Caylee- but he chose not to.

Can you imagine? The public wants to mourn the death of your grandchild and you act like that?

There was a family who lost their son in a bike accident in a town near me. They were touched by the memorial at the scene of the accident. However, after some months passed, they said "let's not memorialize the place he died. Let's do something meaningful about where he lived!" Soon, a small theater was opened in his name.

It is so sad that the As can't even thank people for their kindness. They are so angry that we know their daughter killed their granddaughter, I guess.

I was hoping the same. I live in a small mountain community that is so depressed financially..I would love to see some of that stuff for some of the poor children here whose families are really desperate this year.

I know there is so much need out there and if there is anything we can take away from this case it is that helping those in need (I know casey didn't need monetary things but she sure needed help) should really be higher on our "Christmas Lists".

I personally donate to a variety of charities throughout the year and I will contact one of them to see if I can make a Holiday donation in Caylee's name.

I wish the family hadn't thrown away those stuffed animals, even if they smelled they could have been washed and donated to a nearby shelter. Surely those could have been given to some child who would have appreciated them.

It could be possible that Caylee didn't like flowers..
I don't remember seeing any pictures of Caylee with flowers, or touching flowers as you see most little girls doing.
I'm not saying she didn't, but no one would know except for the family. Maybe she liked a certain color and the flowers werent the right color. Maybe she sneezed because of them and didn't like them because of it..
Lee had his reasons, and I personally can't judge not knowing what they are.

You snipped my post and I have absolutely no idea what "Monica and Bill" would agree to. Smoking a cigar or stretching??? What?

I don't think it's appropriate to put anything outside the family home until the remains are officially identified as Caylee. Even then, it might not be appropriate for outsiders to since there's going to be a trial and flowers are usually placed at the scene of death. IMO, placing flowers beside the fence and area where the remains were found would be better unless someone actually erects a little memorial statue of Caylee in some park or area.

Good Lord...if feel lately that some of the most horrid people who have committed crimes I can put them up a step or two--
sp-he allowed memorial even before bodies washed up.....similar situation (however, shorter time frame)--nothing mean by him
I know the media was a little bit for him at times but his choice to ignore seemed to keep it at a minimal---iirc

ss: she confessed and her boys were laid to rest before they were allowed to totally decompose....

& then again I just keep remembering he is the middle finger in that family hand bit that they were so very proud of....so perhaps life imating the hand???
I do find it odd that the atty's are all there --- they can't be just there to offer support and comfort...not their total job...it is planning defense...
