Lolita, a Saudi woman in her early 30s, came to Australia to seek asylum in May 2022. She had been forced to marry as child an older man in Saudi Arabia. Less than a year after having arrived to Australia she vanished, according to a friend she was taken from her apartment by a group of Saudi men. The last known record about her was that she was put on a flight to Kuala Lumpur in May 2023, probably from there returned to Saudi Arabia.

''A former child bride who was beaten and raped by her husband in Saudi Arabia thought she was finally safe in Australia, until a gang of men arrived in a Mercedes and dragged her back to the airport.''

''Lolita Safeeraldeen arrived in Australia in 2022 and stopped responding to messages in May 2023 while in Melbourne, said her human rights lawyer, Alison Battisson.''

''Safeeraldeen -- who was married at the age of 11, and gave birth to her first child at 13 -- fled sexual and physical abuse in her home country and was seeking asylum in Australia, according to The Australian newspaper.

On the night Safeeraldeen disappeared, a friend of hers who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons, received an "absolutely petrifying" call begging for help as men forced her to leave, Battisson said.

The friend rushed to her home but was blocked from seeing the woman by several men, who were outside with a black Mercedes van, the lawyer said.''

''A young Saudi woman was taken from her Melbourne flat to the city’s airport by a gang of men and was never seen again. Her lawyer and her friends do not believe she left willingly. She had fled to Australia and was in the process of seeking asylum, having escaped a life of violence and sexual servitude in Saudi Arabia. She was forced to marry at the age of 11 and had her first child at around 13. Her name is Lolita, and even her name would be taken from her.Human Rights Lawyer Alison Battison says she hasn't seen - or heard - from Lolita in over a year. Here, she speaks to the case of freeing Lolita - and many women like her.''

That’s so incredibly sad.. this poor woman crossed the world to find a place where she's supposed to be safe .. just for him to kidnapp her...
I don’t have much hope of her still being alive unfortunately

Not necessarily, in Spanish “Lola” is a name (or the diminutive of Dolores), Lolita is a diminutive or a pet name which literally means “little Lola” and the literal meaning of Dolores is pains or sorrows
Nabokov’s book added a new meaning for a very old fashioned name
