Kind of a creepy resemblance. I haven't red her creds in a while, but I believe she's fairly new - maybe 6 yrs out? So many of Willmott's questions about experience were totally directed at DeMarte. She couldn't have been any more obvious about it.
Whoops 8 years it looks like.
britskate, jumping off your post. how do senior citizens psychopaths behave? if ja were freed as a old lady how would her behavior differ? just curious. lol
Bringing this over from closed thread.
And another thing that has been driving me crazy. She was living in N California and working at some seasonal restaurant < always a restaurant,.....And she just up and quits her job and moves to Mesa AFTER they break up? She told Flores it was because "plans were ALREADY in the works", and she was moving in with a friend. PLEASE. There were no plans. The girl she moved in with kicked her OUT after a week or so. She had NO where to live, NO job. She moved there because and only because she was OBSESSED with TA and she could watch/stalk his every move.
There is tons of speculation as to whether he knew/didn't know she was coming, whether she had a key or not, some have said at times she let herself in through the dog door...personally I think she had a key. She stayed with him at times and at one point was his "cleaning lady," so it would make sense.
Interesting. In the "old days" we guarded our notes like a journalist guards their sources. If survivors couldn't count on complete confidentiality, they certainly would not want to talk to us for fear that the abuser would hear what was said. I'd have gone to jail before ANY attorney would have me disclosing this type of sensitive info.
So maybe ALV will end up being a hostile witness to the DT after all. Sad for her that she is credentialed. When I've testified as an "expert" it was more along a forensic line regarding the cycles and syndromes.
In fact, now that I think about it, I doubt very much there is a diagnosis code for Battered Women's Syndrome (just having some fun--we all KNOW there isn't). Without those degree initials, ALV's testimony specific to Jody would just be hearsay - she wasn't a witness to anything Travis did or didn't do. Still, if she was being treated as a professional, shouldn't her work product be protected as confidential?
Like I've always suspected, when the appeal briefs get written this whole defense strategy will make for fascinating reading. Weigh in on this all you psychs and attorneys, please.

That's what I think, too.Does this pic of prosecution expert Dr. Janeen Demarte remind y'all of anyone?
http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/name/Janeen_DeMarte_PhD_Phoenix_Arizona_136525
She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and treats individuals and families.
............................................................................................................
Defense DV expert Alyce La Violette has a Masters in Community-Psychology, which I think indicates she doesn't treat individuals but focuses on community dynamics and group interactions. If so, I don't know what she'll be able to suggest about Jodi in particular. Maybe she'll restrict herself to generalities.
Rather startling resemblance at first glance, but no. She's the prosecution expert who evaluated JA.
Reading around again today I came across this:

This article brings up a good point. Arias' parents are NOT on the defense witness list. It would make sense that if Arias was "abused" by the wooden spoon, hit, shoved etc. by both of her parents, wouldn't they want to testify to that? To help their daughter? Hmmmm...
She stayed with Rachel one week? Was Rachel a friend of travis first? Mormon from his ward. She told that Rachel was sleeping with her boyfriend. She don't mind putting other people's dirty laundry out there so easily.:floorlaugh:

I don't understand how that's legal.
I thought each side was required by law to turn over copies of everything they plan to use in the case?!?!
They certainly aren't , but don't ask me why. All I know is the present mitigation specialist is called Maria DeLaRosa.

Rhondavous said:Reminds me of the time my husband and I took our 4 year old to Disneyland 4 months after the O.J. Simpson murders. We decided to fly into L.A. and rent a car and stay in Brentwood for one night so we could see the crime scene. We found Nicole Simpson's condo and the Rockingham estate and saw for ourselves how close the residences were, probably less than 2 blocks apart. Actually, it appeared there was a shortcut between their homes so O.J. wouldn't have even been visible from the street. This left no doubt in our minds that O.J. was guilty because his defense claimed he wouldn't have had the time to commit the murders, due to the long distance between their residences. This helped me realize how important it is for jurors to have the opportunity to view the scene of the crime in person.
This is true. Everyone says he left to doors unlocked, and yet Jodi testifies that she KNEW the front door would be locked so that's why she went in around back. The friends have said that he didn't lock his doors.
