Who is going to be on websleuths radio tonight? It starts at 8 pm eastern for those that do not listen to regularly or newbies! Katie has been on the last few weeks!

Tricia started a thread earlier that our katiecoolady will be on tonight.

Kind of a creepy resemblance. I haven't red her creds in a while, but I believe she's fairly new - maybe 6 yrs out? So many of Willmott's questions about experience were totally directed at DeMarte. She couldn't have been any more obvious about it.

Whoops 8 years it looks like.

Yes, but Ms. Wilmott, an up to date education is much better than one from the hippy era. :floorlaugh:

Bringing this over from closed thread.

And another thing that has been driving me crazy. She was living in N California and working at some seasonal restaurant < always a restaurant,.....And she just up and quits her job and moves to Mesa AFTER they break up? She told Flores it was because "plans were ALREADY in the works", and she was moving in with a friend. PLEASE. There were no plans. The girl she moved in with kicked her OUT after a week or so. She had NO where to live, NO job. She moved there because and only because she was OBSESSED with TA and she could watch/stalk his every move.

She stayed with Rachel one week? Was Rachel a friend of travis first? Mormon from his ward. She told that Rachel was sleeping with her boyfriend. She don't mind putting other people's dirty laundry out there so easily.:floorlaugh:

There is tons of speculation as to whether he knew/didn't know she was coming, whether she had a key or not, some have said at times she let herself in through the dog door...personally I think she had a key. She stayed with him at times and at one point was his "cleaning lady," so it would make sense.

The friends have said that he didn't lock his doors.

Interesting. In the "old days" we guarded our notes like a journalist guards their sources. If survivors couldn't count on complete confidentiality, they certainly would not want to talk to us for fear that the abuser would hear what was said. I'd have gone to jail before ANY attorney would have me disclosing this type of sensitive info.

So maybe ALV will end up being a hostile witness to the DT after all. Sad for her that she is credentialed. When I've testified as an "expert" it was more along a forensic line regarding the cycles and syndromes.

In fact, now that I think about it, I doubt very much there is a diagnosis code for Battered Women's Syndrome (just having some fun--we all KNOW there isn't). Without those degree initials, ALV's testimony specific to Jody would just be hearsay - she wasn't a witness to anything Travis did or didn't do. Still, if she was being treated as a professional, shouldn't her work product be protected as confidential?

Like I've always suspected, when the appeal briefs get written this whole defense strategy will make for fascinating reading. Weigh in on this all you psychs and attorneys, please.

BBM I assume yours was a clinical setting. A patient/client relationship? And you were trying to help?
These specialists knew ahead of time they would be testifying in open court, and that their findings would be disclosed as a matter of law.
Arias is not really their client - the DT is.

This judge is real careful, to the point of driving some people batty! :floorlaugh:

These notes, if therapy notations, would not be allowed in, IMO, but they are the basis of bought and paid for court evaluations and I think do not meet the standard of work product confidentiality. That's just my experience and opinion.

Looks like some got a little close to home and the judge withheld them.

Thanks, Schuby. Somehow, I don't think he knew she was coming. I think he would have tried to avoid her at all costs, especially after that scathing text he sent. Don't get me wrong, I totally believe that his murder was premeditated, but if she let herself in and was "lying in wait" for him to return home, well that just seals the deal.

I doubt Jodi had a key. One of the roommates said the doors were never locked... I believe it may have been on the Flores report.

Does this pic of prosecution expert Dr. Janeen Demarte remind y'all of anyone?

http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/name/Janeen_DeMarte_PhD_Phoenix_Arizona_136525

She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and treats individuals and families.
............................................................................................................
Defense DV expert Alyce La Violette has a Masters in Community-Psychology, which I think indicates she doesn't treat individuals but focuses on community dynamics and group interactions. If so, I don't know what she'll be able to suggest about Jodi in particular. Maybe she'll restrict herself to generalities.
That's what I think, too.

Rather startling resemblance at first glance, but no. She's the prosecution expert who evaluated JA.

Can't wait for her to testify.

Reading around again today I came across this:

http://kristinarandle.com/blog/a-ps...hat-jodi-arias-may-have-been-like-as-a-youth/

This article brings up a good point. Arias' parents are NOT on the defense witness list. It would make sense that if Arias was "abused" by the wooden spoon, hit, shoved etc. by both of her parents, wouldn't they want to testify to that? To help their daughter? Hmmmm...

They probably figure one perjurer in the family was enough.

Oh she surely does not! Remember that poor married lady she accused of sexting with Travis, and whose name she dropped like a hot potato?

I don't understand how that's legal.

I thought each side was required by law to turn over copies of everything they plan to use in the case?!?!

Each side is required to turn over everything unless it's work product. Work product includes anything that contains case strategy, theories or tactics of the attorneys. It's often hard to determine what is, and what is not, work product because many times there are test results or other testimonial evidence (discoverable) and strategic info (not discoverable) within the same document. So, it sounds like the judge found a few of the notes contained both.

They certainly aren't , but don't ask me why. All I know is the present mitigation specialist is called Maria DeLaRosa.

<mod snip>

<mod snip>

Shouldn't have told me about Maria. I just found her city/state/zip, email address, and phone number.

She worked with Sue Stodola in Adult Probation @ Maricopa County before Sue's retirement from that department.

Here's what she's been doing since 1999:

Capital Mitigation Specialist
Self-Employed

May 2006 – Present (6 years 11 months)

Probation Officer
Adult Probation Department

June 1999 – May 2006 (7 years) Maricopa County Arizona

Victim Advocate
Maricopa Office of the Prosecutor Office

November 2004 – May 2005 (7 months) Phoenix, Arizona Area

Reminds me of the time my husband and I took our 4 year old to Disneyland 4 months after the O.J. Simpson murders. We decided to fly into L.A. and rent a car and stay in Brentwood for one night so we could see the crime scene. We found Nicole Simpson's condo and the Rockingham estate and saw for ourselves how close the residences were, probably less than 2 blocks apart. Actually, it appeared there was a shortcut between their homes so O.J. wouldn't have even been visible from the street. This left no doubt in our minds that O.J. was guilty because his defense claimed he wouldn't have had the time to commit the murders, due to the long distance between their residences. This helped me realize how important it is for jurors to have the opportunity to view the scene of the crime in person.

Hmm, I think you must be confused. From the shortest route, OJ's house was 2 miles from Nicole's condo. Could you be thinking his estate was on Barrington rather than Rockingham? Barrington Drive is 3 blocks from Nicole's but that has nothing to do with either Nicole or OJ. His house was at 360 N. Rockingham Avenue, in the much more expensive area north of Sunset Boulevard. Nicole's was in the less expensive area south of Sunset. [btw of course he had time to commit the murders, since he did. ;) Remember the lady who saw him speeding away from Nicole's condo? The prosecution didn't use her since she'd sold her story to a tabloid.]

The friends have said that he didn't lock his doors.
This is true. Everyone says he left to doors unlocked, and yet Jodi testifies that she KNEW the front door would be locked so that's why she went in around back.

Hummm??? So, Travis said he'd wait up for her, then he locks the door.
Very i n t e r e s t i n g!
