That excerpt states what I've been thinking -- Hernandez will still be quite the competitor. He will not go quietly, IMO, and he will not walk away from a threat or a "measurement" of any kind -- Who is the baddest? The strongest? The meanest? He will not be the one to blink first. Even after the next trial is over, regardless of the verdict for AH, we will not have heard the last of him, IMO.

He won't have a gun tho and he won't have the back-up of weed laced with pcp.
He'll certainly have the notoriety tho. I read somewhere that even some of the guards would ask for his autograph.

It's going to be interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing him at his next trial. Do you or anyone else know when that will be?

Yes, and there was NO WAY Bill Belechick did not know about his past and his problems and his "****" life. He signed him anyway.

AH had a lot to offer in his athletic prowess, strength, nerve, and an ability to play at several positions. He came from a strong football program at Florida -- a real find who normally would have been drafted most likely in the first round.... I guess Belichick thought their special program for him would work -- and it did as long as that stick & carrot were in his sights. But he "graduated" from the beginner's ranks to the veteran ranks with that $40 mil contract, so all bets were off. SMH.
His **** side re-emerged and the party was on -- and it could be that the PCP did make him extra paranoid, suspicious and just plain mean. I don't know the whole story -- none of us do, IMO, but I am not aware of one decision AH made that was a good one. No brakes, no brakes on that roller coaster at all, and it kept going and going, faster and meaner than ever. This guy is a killer, and he's where he needs to be. And I hope there is no significant delay in scheduling the next one for him. Those families need justice for their loved ones, and AH needs to stand up and take it. Grrrr.

On another side of this: I do wonder where the big money is -- that which has already been paid to him by the Patriots -- in a bank under his name? And how much? Is that mansion paid for? I doubt it. There's a child involved here. AH probably did not count on getting arrested... where's the dough and who has control over it? His mom? Just wonderin'...

RS appear to have done alot of research! According to the article, Bellichick (at least knew) looked the other way and should have fired AH long before.

Whew, jilly, a long read, but it's very, very well done and has a lot of interesting points. It's almost a biography of him. He didn't have everything going for him; he lost his father at a crucial time of his young life; his mother had an affair; his brother left home to attend college when AH needed a steadying hand; he was attracted to the fringe of society, etc., etc. I'm sure, however, that many of us can count several other athletes who had it hard growing up as well, but they didn't run with law-breakers, do angel dust and pot to the extreme, and live on the wild side while playing for a championship football team, and so forth.

Thanks for sharing the article -- well worth the time spent reading it. I find RS articles always to be well done and well-researched.

I knowww. I've read that article now about 3x - it's like a small novel and lots to absorb. I don't think AH did steroids, but not sure. Someone interviewed, said it was when he started really getting into the pcp he became very paranoid and unpredictable.

Yep, pcp prolly gets you there faster than steroids do -- and from what we're heard & read, AH did a lot of pcp. SMH. Well, he's prolly not doing any pcp now -- although anything is possible with money, connections & and a telephone...

I always wonder what the convicted person thinks when he/she is alone in the dark on his bunk in prison.... Anger with his counsel at the trial? Anger at some of the witnesses? The judge? LE? Any realization that he himself is responsible? Regret? Making a list for retribution? Fear? A life sentence -- too abstract to contemplate... I can't imagine...

yes, but it's frozen (the house) as are all his assets while the legal suits are going on......he's forbidden to sell it by court order at this time..........sorry, don't have a link handy but i have linked it on this thread before so for now i will add imo

The State could not discuss this in the trial because it was ordered off limits. But Hernandez had become paranoid that Odin knew too much about the double murder in Bristol.

Thanks, QB and enquiringgal, for the info. I was hoping that no one would be able to just spend it for whatever, whoever and whenever.

I hope the powers that be were able to find it all. SMH. AH spent a lot (a big chunk for the house, I'm guessing ~ 1.3+ mil) but there must be a fairly significant amount left. I guess it'll take a while before it is determined who all the victims are -- legally-speaking.

You said it, QB. I have never seen a tighter-run trial than this one. The judge didn't give the prosecution one inch at any time during that tuff trial. While I watched, I figured Garsh was running it that tightly so that none of her decisions could be overturned and a new trial granted. And in doing this, by giving the prosecution no wiggle room at all, she may well have done just that. I must say too, that the prosecutors were cool-headed; no pouting; no noticeable anger, etc. They just played by the judge's rules, knowing that that was the only way to fly. And it turned out just fine. The bad guy is in the jailhouse for life. And another one is coming up soon, I hope.

But it did make me huff & puff & curse more than once -- and it was tuff for many of the witnesses, too. If they were on the stand long enuff, they figured out her strict system & got on with the testimony, however restrictive it was.

I'm sure the prosecution team is glad it's over, and they may be a little glad that Judge Garsh handled it the way she did... (!)

Thats exactly what I was thinking too. He expected more for his money. Wonder what an attorney does in a case where they believe the Prosecution's evidence. I mean upstanding defense Attorneys not like the Team JA had. JA'S team tried to use so much reasonable doubt (lies) by the end I doubted their skills.
