He is basically saying they had the best of the best kind of relationship. Their love was so pure. He knew about the affair but he loved her and trusted her. They were looking for future properties to buy together. BW would never kill her. He loved her. He was going to buy her a porsche.

Murder eve was jovial and loving.
AW spoke of a ring that BW got her in a glowing manner.

Defense telling jury that BW had to pay restitution and possibly go to prison.

Oddly the defense got so quiet I could barely hear him when he said BW didn't kill her and never thought of killing her. But during most of his opening he was practically yelling.

20 minute break
the day will consist of LE's interviews.

The Brian Walshe defense is coming out in opening statements: Defense claims Ana Walshe died of sudden unexplained death. Bryan found her early on January 1 dead in their bed and panicked.

Brian Walshe defense attorney telling the jurors there were not issues in their marriage - yes there was an affair, and Ana had even told Brian she had a "crush" on another man. But Brian still was researching buying her a new Porsche and they were looking at are real estate.

Defense says after Ana Walshe died of sudden unexplained death, Brian then hid her body because he feared people would blame him and he would lose his boys.

Revolting.

Big jump from finding one's beloved spouse dead to dismembering her. God Almighty.

Why would anyone blame him if she died of natural causes? Um.... maybe because... she had help dying. Broken teeth? Maybe a blunt force object met her head? Maybe strangulation marks and bruises...

Pretty strong proof that he killed her, that he didn't call 911 because it must have been obvious that she hadn't died naturally.

This lame defense exposes the truth.

Why not call 911?

Why panic?

And if panic, then hacksaw? That is not a natural jump in any universe.

Jury must feel like they've entered another dimension.

Before jury is brought in. Judge goes through motions. One thing of note: Ana Walshe’s alleged boyfriend is expected to testify this week.

Next, @MassStatePolice witnesses are brought in and judge makes sure they’ll be available to testify. Among them: Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik who was involved in the #KarenRead murder case.

Jurors are brought in and all answer that they did not speak, research, go on social media regarding the case. They are being sworn in.

Opening statements are complete. The prosecutor alleges that Brian Walshe knew his wife was having an affair & looked up her boyfriend. He says Ana Walshe went on trip with her boyfriend, missing Thanksgiving with her family & missed her Xmas flight after night with boyfriend.

Prosecutor tells the jury they will see evidence of Walshe doing internet searches like "best way to dispose of a body" and security video of him buying cleaning supplies & hacksaw along with hatchet.

Prosecutor says DNA on evidence in dumpsters matched both Ana and Brian Walshe. He tells jurors to use "common sense" when deliberating this case.

The defense then delivers its opening statements. He claims Ana Walshe died of "sudden unexplained death".

The defense says Brian and Ana Walshe rang in NYE with a friend, then went to their bedroom and continued the celebration. The defense attorney Brian went downstairs to clean dishes and when he returned to the bed, Ana was dead.

The defense says the Walshes loved each other, were planning a future. That Brian Walshe was concerned police would think he hurt Ana, so he lied in hopes of doing what was best for the kids futures.

Hello. You know what's missing (besides Brian Walshe's wife) --

If he's admitting to all the terms -- but claiming she died naturally and panic led him to dismembered her, then why isn't he forthcoming with where she is? Why not just tell?

So Ana suffered sudden adult death and Brian was so afraid he'd be blamed and lose his children, didn't once wonder what caused her death, in case it was genetic?

There is no ocean where this ship is going sail.

Heck even I was watching with my jaw hung open! He jumped completely over the gruesome stuff.
Felt a little like a bad comedy.

BBM good IMO cause the judge was not happy with the earlier guilty plea stunt. She is prepared to make her sentencing harsh JMO

BW has a rosary wrapped around his right hand. It is very evident and a clear ploy to continue his con game. Every time he moves his hand to scratch his face or muffle a cough it's there.

Harrison Schmidt is on the stand former Detective now Sgt.

Why is he allowed props?????

Hope the jury sees through that, but I'm not sure why the judge allows it.

Forget tge rosary, Pal, you used those same hands on a hacksaw....
