Never, ever stare into the abyss, but I wish I could safely read BW's mind right now. What do you suppose he is thinking?
" I did not kill her. I just cut her up, that's all. I didn't kill her! " 🤄

Defense is trying very hard to show there's no blood/evidence on the second floor.

[So, I guess, Legionnaire's it is. 'Sif.]

Jury dismissed.
All he had to do was strangle her in her sleep---then carry her to the basement and begin cutting.

but where was that rug that had all that messy stuff on it?

I don't think she was asleep.

If they have that photo, they know what room or was in.

NYE and resolutions for what she wanted from her new year may have nudged her into telling him...

I think she had been straddling the fence, waiting to see what came of his trial because it could come to pass that she wouldn't have to tell him at all. He gets sentenced, she files for divorce while he's behind bars and he's none the wiser, she avoids the conversation altogether...

That is where I am with this. Kitchen, knive, basement. Shoving her down the stairs with an active blood wound is not working for me as I feel there would be more blood spatter. I wanna know where that rug that we saw cut up into a zillion pieces with blood was in the house. JMO
The rug was in the living room.

Harrison Schmidt testimony timestamp 3:47:36 day 1

Q. what part of the home is this?
A. that door on the left is the front door, so this is, if you're looking away from the dining room, you'd be looking at the stairs upstairs to the main part of the house, and the living room is straight ahead.
Q. what's at the far end of the living room?
A. a fireplace and a TV

Q. And if we could have the next exhibit 22, I'm sorry 21. Where is this sir?

Peter Capozolli (landlord) testimony timestamp 3:42:47 day 3

Q. Mr Capozolli I'm handing you a photograph. Sir do you recognize the room that photograph is taken in?
A. Yes.
Q. Do you recognize the person in that photograph?
A. I think it's Ana.
Q. The room, is it a fair and accurate description of the room that you recognize?
A. Yes.
Q. And what room is it that you recognize?
A. It's the living room, or den, yes.
Q. The commonwealth would seek to have this marked as the next exhibit your honor.
J: Any objection? Photo is now in evidence as exhibit 97.
Q. Your honor if the commonwealth may publish briefly?
J: Yes
Q. Thank you. Miss Gilman if we could have still 3. Mr Capozolli how do you recognize this as the living room?
A. So when you walk in the front door it's the room to the left, it's the only room that had a rug, it's the only room downstairs that has a fireplace.

I’m not sure that the testimony confirms the rug in question was normally in the living room. There appears to be a blue and white one in the picture which is what the detective is using to identify that room as the living room. Somewhere in the back of my mind I recall very early on before the trial that the rug was normally in the kitchen. I have no proof however to back that up…just my ā€œoldā€ brain.

Gold star for you.

And now the Defense cross from yesterday is even worse. All that elicited testimony about no blood or biological evidence in the bedroom and staircase, in supposed support of a peaceful sudden unexplained death in her sleep, in her bed, in her second floor bedroom becomes PROOF that that isn't where she died!

She was murdered in the first floor. Thank you for that clarity.

No wonder the detective was so cool and confident with his answers. The evidence doesn't support a death on the second floor.

Eager to see what today's testimony shows. State is moving quite methodically through the evidence. Coolly.

Their closing argument will bring it all together, powerfully and impassionately.
