Still Missing MA - Ana Walshe, 39, allegedly left home, may have been dismembered, Cohasset, Jan 2023 *husband indicted* #4

Law & Crime used to have a Twitter feature that will alert you to a verdict, maybe someone here can link you to how to add it (I never used it myself).
I think I used that in the only other trial I followed with Jennifer Dulos. I've since deleted Twitter X and FB but thanks!

Thank you. Was the rug discarded before his multiple murder aisle cleanup trips?

We know he went TO a dumpster before the shopping trips.

He didn't have his tools yet so presumably he wasn't getting rid of her yet.

So we're back to sudden unexplained bloody death....

Something was. He went to the dumpster behind the liquor store before going for his dismemberment/cleaning supplies shopping spree. What was in that garbage bag(s)?

My guess is the towels and bath mats he used to stop the bleeding.

The ones he replaced at his TJ Maxx trip

I can imagine him using the bath mats under her body and towels on her wounded area.

Move body to the basement with the child locked door and improvise with kitchen trash bags to protect the floor until he could make his shopping list and get the better supplies.

He would have had to addressed the rug that early evening also - wouldn't want the kids seeing it. I think it went in the basement until he had time to cut it up.

Personally I think he got rid of it later as he was too busy searching what to do so it wouldn't look like he did what he did.

He didn't get any sleep that night did he.

I bet he rolled her up in the rug.

So far they are set for the am.

Do you, or any of you, know of any 'verdict reached' apps that I can utilize for tomorrow?

The Law Nerd app will do so for this case! Emily D. Baker on YouTube is doing commentary on this case, and they send out alerts while Emily is live streaming trials.

12/11/25 Thursday, Trial Day 9: Walshe will not be testifying in his behalf. Defense calls no witnesses & rests.
*Judge has ruled jury will NOT hear about the charges Walshe plead guilty to. Jury has been sent home. The Judge talked with attorneys about "charging documents" the jury will receive when deliberating. Judge & attorneys went over jury instructions. Judge upholds that the CW can say there is no evidence of sudden death & that the circumstantial evidence suggests homicide. Adjourned until 8:45 am, to resolve any final adjustments to the jury instructions. Trial continues on Friday, 12/12/25 @ 10:30am for closing arguments [each side will get approximately 45 minutes for closing].

Also possibly his clothes, which if they were to replace a likeness of clothes he was wearing when Gem was there, including pants and a belt (because of a photograph taken and sent to Fastow), could suggest he was still dressed and not ready for bed when he murdered Ana.

I think the fact he told Gem that evening that he had lost his phone shows premeditation.

I also think the late dismemberment planning may have been because of her injuries, which would be apparent if her intact body was found. I don't think he'd planned ahead on the blood clean up. Just my preliminary thoughts on it.

Exactly.

He didn't replace pajamas.

He did replace slippers.

And now I'm curious.

Some households have a habit of leaving their shoes at the door. Some people wear house slippers.

What was BW wearing for footwear on NYE?

I think Ana was murdered shortly after Cem left. I can imagine the tension between Ana and BW in the months leading up to NYE, spoken and unspoken. I expect Ana genuinely lit up for Cem and was happy not to be alone with BW. BW, not blind. Whether he wondered wrongly any the nature of Ana and Cem's friendship, I suspect he was simmering inside, in particular with Ana's ease around another man who wasn't HIM, alongside his growing awareness that she was having an affair.

I don't think it was the loss of Ana that enraged him (they'd been living apart, hadn't been intimate), I don't think he cared or considered HER much at all (or he'd have made all kinds of different choices); I think he was afraid that she was going to leave him and the impact of that ON HIM -- financially, for sure, but with his house arrest. I think he thought he could beat the charges -- pay restitution with Ana's new salary -- and never spend a day in jail.

For his efforts, may he spend the entire rest of his life there.

No great loss to the planet.

But what he TOOK from the planet, irreplaceable.

I hope the CW opens today with a glowing -- radiantly unblurred -- photo of Ana.

The CW had an opportunity to ask Cem if BW was wearing slippers that night. Maybe they didn't because he couldn't remember.

They also had an opportunity to affirm that BW's mommy wasn't there that night and wouldn't have needed to be driven home and settled in during that 6 hour time frame the next day.

I'm eager to see all the strings neatly tied together today.

Hi everyone, seasons greetings and hope you are all well.

I loved Judge Freniere's discussion with Tipton on the 'breadcrumbs', the nature of inference and circumstantial evidence, and the defence's failure to produce any evidence of sudden spontaneous death.

Certain commentators have tried to claim that generic statements from CW witnesses about ways in which a person can die in the abstract have any probative value as to how Ana actually died.

It's what lawyers call "wild speculation"

I wish we could always have Judges who remind defence counsel they actually have to have some evidential foundation for things they claim, notwithstanding that in criminal cases the defence need not prove innocence.

I think you are right about the rug. This is about as obvious a case of M1 as you will see IMO.

Reminder: the judge is starting early at 8:45 EST to address any final corrections to jury instructions.

My question:

The judge has had half days on Fridays.

Will she send the jury to deliberate and let them take as long as they need today?

(They won't need long.)

I think the judge wants to get this case finished. I think any issues and closing arguments will take up the morning. Then lunch break followed by jury instructions and deliberations. JMO

We take off our shoes when we come inside, as do guests. The exception: when everyone is dressed up for dinner parties, celebrations, etc. Then we all wear shoes because it's part of being all dressed up! But when everyone leaves, we put on slippers while doing the minimal cleanup necessary before going to bed.

I think they were all wearing their shoes, then BW put on slippers as soon as Gem left. He may have even surprised Ana by attacking her as she was bent over to remove her own shoes.

You mean she didn't roll out of bed after suddenly dying and bleed all over those slippers and onto the downstairs rug?

Sheesh with the Defense.
