Still Missing MA - Ana Walshe, 39, allegedly left home, may have been dismembered, Cohasset, Jan 2023 *husband indicted* #4

If he planned to murder why would he not have searched out disposal and dismemberment before he killed her?

IN actuality, this may be the only part of his closing that gives them pause. JMO
Because although premeditated, it wasn’t a long planning process. Once he committed the murder, he knew he was sunk.

what you see with your own eyes is not true. The government is tricking you. you can rely on circumstantial evidence. But however you decide, it must be reasonable.

Where is the evidence that something VILE happened in this house?

[OH, I'd say that dismembering your wife in the basement is vile.]

absolutely agree, however, I am just playing devil's advocate. This closing is abysmal IMO, but that point is one of the very few being made by defense that the jury may just give some consideration to in their deliberations.

Glad he underscored how there was no evidence on the second floor. We're agreed on that. Proof Ana never went to bed that night IMO.

if this was a class, I would get an F. He’s making no sense.
No evidence of a crime scene? Roll Security Tapes and videos!

As far as the knife in the cabinet goes, I suspect it was a very expensive, high end knife: the sort that sells for hundreds of dollars, since BW was purportedly a master chef. He probably didn't want to damage it and got the hacksaw to use instead.

ETA: And he either forgot about it or ran out of time before the detectives showed up. I don't think he is a detail person.

Will the CW bring up the guilty pleas in their closing? When the jurors hear that, it’s game over.

  • #2,429
Honestly, at this moment I feel sorry for the D lawyer. He has been on my last nerve, but he has NOTHING to work with. He is trying to make stone soup and there is nothing to go in the pot.

True but he was searching for divorce situations right after christmas and emergencies at ana's buildings two days after that.
Plus he asked for time off for his mom---------------I just realized the defense should have tied that to the lie that BW was taking AW out to dinner. But they didn't!

Is it reasonable that he cleaned the whole house?

It's in their instructions as well as lying to his federal probation officer and the art fraud.

He’s obnoxious and the CW will blow him out of the water.

Paraphrasing the Defense

The only blood they found was in the basement..
So he cleaned the whole house, why didn't he clean the basement.
Defies inference that he cleaned the house

Mmmok

No he's not. He even left the Home Depot receipt in his car.

So the judge, not the CW, will tell them? That will be an aha moment.

The hole in the ceiling....

  • #2,439
I'll give him one on the whole in the ceiling. LOL.

  • #2,440
Yes, Mr. Tipton, please ask BW what happened to the ceiling. We all want to know.
