So the jury didn’t buy sudden unexplained death followed by an unexplained body chopping and dumping around town?? What a shocker!

So an interesting theory I heard about today is that this was strictly a financial motive. He killed her for money to cover his restitution and stay out of prison/rebuild his life. I’m inclined to believe this was the primary reason.

I apologize if this has been discussed already, but I am not quite clear on something. The google searches he did on his laptop showed up on his son’s ipad because they sync’d through a shared apple account? Did he remove his search history on the laptop? So he was not aware that the ipad would sync with his laptop?

That is basically what happened though I am not sure he ever actually deleted the searches off his laptop.

The iPad was searched by consent after Walshe foolishly surrendered it. His Attorney Miner tried to claim pre-trial that he never consented to a full extraction of the iPad but it's clear he surrendered it because he thought it was clean. Unfortunately for him, his apple account was connected to that iPad, so the searches were extracted from it.

Based on the iPad extraction, the CW immediately applied for search warrants and seized his other devices and extracted them. IIRC at trial, what was presented was the actual laptop extraction.

1000% agreed on the judge. This is one of the best judges I’ve seen in all my years of trial watching. Firm and in charge! Loved it!

Ironically Judge Freniere was brutal for the defendant, especially pre-trial.

I liked that she almost ruined the gentleman's agreement that Tipton had reached with the CW not to call out his unsupported claims from opening.

However she was correct to point out to counsel he had no real evidence for his claims about sudden death - I assume the CW was simply quite OK with him repeating that absurd speculation in closing .... YMMV

I reread some earlier threads of the case on here and was happy to find the kids and their dog are with a “Familar face “ in the fostercare program in Massachusetts ( with a relative).

To me that’s typically a sign of guilt.

I was listening to Prof Jo's summary of verdict day and she said something along the lines of how he seems like the type who values appearing unbothered. And that is so true. I have people in my life like this who never appear upset or bothered by anything. And once you are upset about something (usually caused by their inconsiderate or selfish behavior), they love to throw that in your face. They act like it's a gotcha.

Any human being who receives the news that he will be spending his life in prison is definitely BOTHERED. Even a sociopath, imo. So my take is that he was bothered. How can he not be? But he desperately wants to APPEAR unbothered.

Did y'all catch when this judge said that she goes all over the county or something and that this is how most trials in Mass are conducted? I felt like that was a dig at the fiasco of the Karen Read trial. She wants to make sure the watching public knows that is now how trials in Mass are conducted in general.

12/15/25 Monday, Trial Day 11/Verdict Watch Day 2: Jurors started deliberations [~9:40am] – a bit delayed for a missing alternate juror. [Started with 3 alternates, juror #15 alternate a no show]. Verdict reached at ~11:45am. Verdict: Guilty in the 1st degree murder.
Trial continues with sentencing on Thursday, 12/18/25 @ 9am.
12/17/25 Update: Brian’s sentencing, was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17, but the Norfolk Superior Court postponed it until 9am on Thursday, 12/18/25. On 12/17/25 will be the victim impact statements hearing.

I'm late to this, but just watched Lawyer Lee's excellent recap of the art fraud part of this case. I recommend.
Her review makes me wonder how Anna could not have known about the art fraud and the money. Her accounts were used to try to sell the Warhol forgeries. How could she not have known?

If she knew, she may have been complicit. Why escape to Washington DC? Just for the job? I wonder if she was planning to escape Brian with a lover Fastow, hopefully extract herself from the legal situation in Massachusetts, perhaps even with a delusion that she'd be able to access the money or the originals. Did Anna know where the original Warhols were? And, was that a reason Brian wanted to kill her? Still, nobody knows where the originals are, except Brian.
