What a strange reaction as he's coming out. He smiles for the camera. That is so odd.

Edited to add:
I wonder if selling this condo was a catalyst for events to come? Sort of a "one more straw piled on top of the pile."
Sold for $220,000 on 12-29-22
Current estimate:
$229,189
+$9,189 since sold in 2022
Imo, the husband seems financially desperate. Gambling or something, in huge debt? His wife is earning well and yet he is stealing money from anywhere he can? Obvious thefts like selling fake art masterpieces online or swiping everything he can get his hands on from his dead father. Then he and Ana’s (just Ana’s?) previous home sold for $600k profit in 2022, then this condo. He wants/NEEDS access to that money?! Jmo

Well, this case is crazy. The thing is, it has been very obvious since the very beginning that LE wasn’t looking for someone alive on the run, they’re looking for someone who’s dead.

So, even though her husband is a known con artist and she MIGHT be sort of suspicious/shady, it has been super duper clear that LE thinks that this is a DV situation and that she’s no longer alive.
Thinks or thought? Have to admit the involvement of TSA and Secret Service has me wondering if what looked like run of the mill domestic homocide has turned into a national security inquiry.

I am curious to hear his story. Why did he need all that money? He doesn’t seem to have anything flashy that isn’t Ana’s.

Drugs? Gambling? Something else?

He looks like he aged 20 years compared to their wedding photos and other vacation pictures.
Me too! He flew through that money from his dad and doesn't seem to be making much on his own?? I don't know.
I also noticed in that sentencing memo where he was supposed to pay off his cc debts and leave the rest to AW that all of his CC payments were in whole dollar amounts which makes it unlikely the debts were in fact zeroed out. JMO

Right! It doesn't appear that AW rolled over that 600k to her DC house if she is carrying a 900k mortgage as we learned earlier in the thread.

Interesting. I wonder what the "cultural differences" between Michael and Ana are? BW's mother seems to indicate that the marriage wasn't going well.
sounds like he was married to his mother. i imagine she wanted OUT and that became a problem for him and mama

It could be that. A simple domestic violence incident that turned to murder.

BUT there are some strange goings on...the secret service involved, their old house burning down within a couple of days of her disappearance, the company she works for being involved in shady goings on in DC.....

These could all be red herrings.... or they could indicate that something deeper is at play.
Yes. Often on these missing person threads we see that hypothsized (along with human trafficking and drug cartels) and I just roll my eyes. This time, my eyes aren’t rolling.

ETA: On the other hand, if a foreign spy went underground how likely is it we’d even know the TSA and Secret Service were involved? My guess is not very.

This was taken from the article:
Has anyone followed up on who the alleged colleague might be? Why did Ana’s husband insert that tidbit into the information he gave to Ana’s mother? It was another lie he could be caught in.
I do believe the husband is likely responsible for Ana’s disappearance, but sometimes when a suspect supplies extraneous details there is a nugget of truth buried within. Was there an accomplice who removed A’s body from the house? Was the colleague comment meant to divert from a possible sighting of a vehicle leaving the Walshe residence in the early morning hours?
Hi @OldCop - you make a good point as always. Yesterday in a posted tweet upthread we saw LE tow the family volvo away from the residence. Earlier yesterday morning we had seen the volvo, with the clidren inside leaving the property. It appeared to me, that there were two older women in the front seat of the volvo - one the driver. My own speculation is that one was the MIL. The MIL lived with them and paid the rent. My sense is the search area has been "tight to the house and surrounding property", bc the husband is on home confinement. But the home confinement does not extend to the MIL IMO.
My sense is that this will unfold quite quickly and I really hope they find her today. IMO only

So, whatever happened to the real Andy Warhol paintings ? Did they really exist? Someone retrieved the rest of the art collection from the original owner.
M00
I believe the Andy Warhol paintings were in his father's art collection.

I wonder if those agencies finally received word as to who the missing person is - e.g. granddaughter of a former president. Not your every day missing person. It might be protocol, professional courtesy, spycraft, who knows. State Department seems likely to have been notified as well. m00

He looks like he's walking into a surprise birthday party.

"Aww shucks, is this all for me?! You guys shouldn't have!"

Here is a letter from BW's mother to the court. She states she doesn't have a good relationship with her daughter in law but boy howdy she heaps on praise about her baby boy!!!! wow!
She’s a well educated woman, and quite a dramatic one. I wonder what her country of origin is. She remarks that she might not get on well with her daughter-in-law due to cultural differences.
