NECN had a natural gas expert on and he wasn't even helpful except saying this type of issue is "rare." Yeah no kidding, thank you for your contribution.

Andover Fire Chief is going to go live.

Boston Globe, MassLive, both reporting six injured, two critically.

I feel like that's a miracle if that's all that were harmed, but my guess is that they just don't know the totals yet.

Does anyone else find it irresponsible that not one official has had a presser? Where do people go? What do they do? Really odd.

Good point. Someone needs to be visible from the power company. Even if he says, "We are uncovering what happened and we'll get to the bottom of this. I'll update again in an hour."

Thank God this happened during the day when most people weren't home. I can't imagine what would have happened if it happened at night during the winter.

Fire Chief says this will be an ongoing issue for a week, week and a half. The affected houses have to be cleared by Columbia gas.

Chief said the area looked like a war zone driving into the area.

Don't cities practice for this stuff? How are people finding their kids that were at school? 100K people affected and no guidance.

A lot of kids have afterschool activities. Sports, clubs, etc. Chief previously talked about the difficulty of getting parents and kids reunited.

What scares me is that there were probably kids home alone waiting for mom and dad to get off work.

Another scary thought.

The news reported teenagers running out of a house that was blowing up. I don't know what time the high school gets out but it's often early, 3pm or so.
