My friend just put up on her facebook page that the entire communities of Andover and N. Andover are under mandatory evacuations

This is nuts!! Multiple homes on fire after natural gas issues in area north of Boston; 4 injured

NECN in New England is broadcasting live. They are turning the power off for all of Andover and asked people to evacuate. 70 different incidents already.

No announced fatalities, at least. Presser was announced for 7 ET but not yet.

State Police said it was “far too early to speculate” on the cause, and a “joint investigation will be conducted when situation is stabilized.” (Boston Globe)​

Dont be surprised if they try to blame it on "faulty equipment" and the true underlining cause may have been simple human error but because they know the liability now is going to be huge I will not be surprised if they try to blame this on something else.

The good news is it is only going to be in the 60s tonight. Last week it was down to 35 at night. That could have been really bad with no gas or electricity for residents.
