Her mom said in an article very soon after she went missing that she knew she was dead. When they say Thursday I think they mean the Thursday she went missing, not this past Thursday. I don't know if they think this due to who she was with or due to her medical condition, but it's been clear from the start that her family believes she is dead. I'm really sad for them and for her little boy...he needs his mama

It's a mystery to me other than pings, possibly. If her phone was dead, maybe they followed his phone signals. As for the pond, I am not sure where I read it but someone mentioned to check a certain pond that JF frequented a few times this summer. I can't find where I saw this, so I will call it rumor. MOO. I had wondered if the search pond is the same as the rumored pond. Sorry I can't be more specific. Does anyone else recall???

I hope someone can point out that pond he frequented. If you map the CVS, where her phone and jacket were found, pond they are searching, and the home he was staying at, it's a straight line of travel. Hopefully it's based on more than that.

Lynn Pond is right on the way to Flax Pond. From what I read on the Find FB page JM, SV, and JF all hung out at Flax Pond. But after seeing the map, Lynn Pond seems to be in an industrial area that backs right up to it. Perhaps LE has video from one of the business's?

In the little bit of research I've done, I found another address that JF has either used or lived at before, in Lynn. I also looked up the deed and found who owns the house. I don't know if it is okay to post either of those pieces of information or not... or if they are even at all relevant.

Maybe you could check with a mod, before you do. But a map, simply with the points would interesting to get a better sense of his comfort zone.

Is it accessible at any time of day?

Technically, yes...it has entrances in like 3/4 towns though... it's quite large. You can't access it by car ...there are small lots at each entrance but it's a long way to walk so I doubt anyone could have carried someone & go unnoticed.

LLC there was chatter on the Find Jaimee FB page that Flax Pond was an area that was frequented by JF as well as JM and SV.

The search today is being described as both the Floating Bridge Pond/Lynn Pond. The Floating Bridge Pond looks to be very manageable for a search because of it's size. I'm attaching FindHG's map for reference and as you can see there are businesses that back right up to it. IMO that would be an easy place for disposal...I HATE typing that :-/

Agreed. Of all the ponds around it may be the one with the best access from the back of a van to the water. Considering the time of night, that it's a well populated area, this may make some sense.

Then there is this parking lot at Flax Pond which may have provide some isolation, but it's residential, people around, maybe walking dogs, etc...

The million $$$$$ question! If in fact this was the doing of JF he probably didn't really have a lot of time to plan it out. The first order of business was to get high once the drugs were in his hands. From what I have seen heroin pretty much so makes you worthless when first administered. How long that initial feeling lasts IDK? It could be that this Pond was known to him and he could navigate there fairly easily and knew exactly where to go. MOO

Just grasping at ideas but since I'm not familiar with the area it's guessing at best.

If he was high on an opiate like heroin, then Jaimee's friend would've found him and her spaced out. From what I understand of the effect, it would be exactly the opposite of the state he may have needed to be in to be intimidating to Jaimee, get scratches, be able to drive away when the friend couldn't find him, or go to his 'girlfriend's' houses. That's way too much activity on a heroin high. We only have his word for the heroin use, and it has zero credibility, the way I see it.

The thing I wonder is why would he hide Jaimee Mendez in pond close by, when the sea is just near by as well. He may have done this before and have it work for him perhaps? Or he may have some sick freak thing about having his victim nearby to feel like master of of some sick realm, as other killers have. These types are driven by motives of vindictiveness among other things, like as mentioned here in the thread by a poster who'd seen his facebook comments, 'Bretray now, Revenge later' if I recall correctly. He perhaps may have been at this for a while and progressed with how he may have done things, so as to not bring attention to himself, until he ran into the Mendez family.

I have been feeling Ocean. lizzi Marriott comes to mind, but I do not think the tides are so strong there. One would need a boat to go out further?
