Never said the CW or the defense claimed Read knocked him down and ran over him. Alternate theories abound on true crime forums. I will watch the entire trial again as I admit, I didn't see all of it 1st time around.
I joined this forum and her trial after it started. I believed she was guilty right off the bat because I didn’t like the way she was acting in court and I naively never thought cops were bad. Completely changed my mind after a few days and now I can’t believe it ever went to trial. So many cops and their families appear to be covering for each other. The neighbour across the street deleted his camera coverage because he didn’t believe anything important was on it. He is or was a cop. The people inside the house couldn’t remember anything, supposed butt dials over and over.

If the CW's case is so weak, why are they trying her for a second time ?

In order to avoid looking into other options of who could have caused JOK’s death.

In order to avoid facing the fact that they have prosecuted (as well as persecuted) an innocent woman, who has had her career, her privacy, and her peace of mind torn from her.

In order to avoid public eyes looking into Canton PD and any other misconduct in their police force.

If the CW didn't have one, please explain how KR was not acquitted. Either the CW produced enough evidence that KR hit him or they didn't believe the convoluted conspiracy theory.

She should have been and was voted to acquit on the 2 greater charges. However, the ever so IMHO bias judge didn't give the jury clear instructions, so they thought they had to agree on all charges. If they had understood that they could say not guilty on some charges and hung on others, they would have. A couple (maybe more) jurors are appalled that she is being tried again for murder.

I would think the CW would look a lot worse if she is acquitted in the 2nd trial and KR could/would file civil suits against the Canton PD and Mass State Troopers.

Seems most of this forum thinks she's innocent and I'll guess we'll see in round 2.

Even more baffling that the CW is trying her again ... I think there's a possibility she hit JO but should've been charged with either involuntary/voluntary manslaughter or DUI causing the death of another.

Actually, a lot here will agree with you. They definitely over-charged her even IF she had hit him with her car.

Never said JO was IN the undercarriage - just a theory as to how his arm got damaged. I have yet to hear a plausible theory as to how JO's body ended up where it did.
And the undercarriage theory was not clear to me. He either got under it or he didn't. AFAIK the undercarriage was checked for any signs that JO was there and there were none.

Nothing.

In and under are two different things to me - did she back into him, knock him down, and then continue to back over him. If the evidence doesn't support it, I'll move on.

Regardless of whether KR hit JO or not, this group of people didn't/don't seem to think about the perils of driving after having a bunch of drinks at multiple bars. And in a blizzard no less !

Makes me wonder how many times one of them was actually pulled over for drunk driving and let go.
They all thought they were above the law, that they could do whatever they pleased and get away with it. Proctor thought this was an open and shut case. Boy! Was he wrong! If anything, he is the scapegoat for his "friends".

I've posted this before, but here's what Gordon Ramsay looked like after he was hit by a car while riding his bike. How come JO didn't have any bruising at all if Karen really hit him at those speeds? There were arm scratches and head wounds, but no bruises on his legs, his torso or his arm.

If she did hit him and w/o knowing the actual position of JO ... what if he was behind the vehicle, KR started back in reverse, JO puts his hands out as a defensive measure, and KR continues on reversing. Is it possible that JO fell backward, hit and fractured his skull, and was partially run over ? No one has any idea how he ended up 6-12' off the road though.

I'm sure there have been other cases where someone was hit by a car reversing direction and had minimal bruising.

The evidence does not support it. John had NO injuries below the neck except for abrasions on his right arm.

I believe that if the cop neighbor had Ring video of KR hitting JR, the video wouldn’t have been deleted.

Did LE even check and see the Ring camera could pick up the entire front yard of 34 Fairview ?

If JO was killed inside, how did the Albert/McCabe/Higgins group know when to move the body and whether KR might suddenly appear looking for JO ? Was there a blood trail near the body leading back to the house ?

How do you know everyone was intoxicated that night?
The defense is pointing the finger specifically at Collin - based on what evidence?
Pointing the finger at him, in my opinion, is beyond diabolical and vile.
Did you watch the first trial at all? It was seen on video and also admitted to that everyone was drinking pretty good that night.

If I am following your thoughts on this case..........Karen is unlikable so therefor guilty. Not concrete evidence of anything but guilty by arrogance and attitude. It has been proven that Canton PD is corrupt and has already covered up one murder. It is proven that Proctor said and did some pretty vile things, but he deserves a book deal?

Karen Read made a big mistake pointing the finger at him. She doesn’t understand being a parent. I bet those jurors will. You accuse a child of murder, you better have evidence.
As for ‘how do you know who was drinking’ this is detailed in the dozens of other threads about KR. Sorry, but I am not going to go through years of court proceedings and websleuths threads on your behalf. It is known.

You will note I’ve never spoken about Colin, so I consider this a bit of a straw man to be thrown my way. However, all I will say is that in the face of a police department who did not do their job throughly investigating all those on scene that night (an investigation I will add, that was led by a man just dishonorably discharged and fired, who had personal hatred for KR…), Karen’s lawyers are forced to look through the evidence they have been presented and look for what possibly could have happened. I understand you are feeling some kind of way about it, but it is simply their job. Maybe Colin’s name would have never been floated had the house been properly investigated.
