I hit him is not an admission, it was her instant ASSUMPTION. Worked great for some, very unfortunate for truth, justice, a professional and non corrupt investigation and especially KR and JO'K.

I'm convinced we could shave at least 2 days off of this trial if the lawyers didn't have to constantly ask for permission to "approach the witness".

This guy is superman? His memory gets BETTER with time? Wow, impressive (sarc).

I am curious... How many of you believe that Karen Read is guilty? And how many of you believe that something else happened that night?
I didn't watch the first trial, I just picked up bits and pieces reading here and loosely looking at things online, but I don't know enough to have an opinion either way at this point. I am going to watch this trial and see where I come out.

Not surprising that a do-over from a talent like Brennan is way tighter and apparently will pay much more attention to the available data to fix the timing and attempt to eliminate the dog stuff.

CW Theory - JOK never had time to get in the house before he was hit. According to CW he exited the car, checked a message from JMc, locked his phone again, and was hit 7 seconds later.

I wonder how they will established the "7 seconds' part. Seems like the trial might turn on whether the CW can be so precise.
If Brennan's opening is any indication. he intends to boil it down to JOK's phone temperature and the Lexus black box. Should be interesting if nothing else. He is going to contend that John lay on that lawn with no one seeing him for hours despite all the activity of others coming and going. And this is not some expansive lawn in a mansion neighborhood. The lawn is pretty small in the overall scheme of things. Cars coming and going parking at the curb, people in and out... all saw no one on the lawn - Not even Jen McCabe who kept peering out the window at Fairview to look for John.

Right away though if I am on the jury listening to Brennan - I am assuming the whole after party crowd is pretty drunk. And that includes John, So it becomes totally reasonable that John could have slipped on the snow and fallen over and hit his head all by himself. No need to have a vehicle involved.

I am glad that both the opening statements of the P and D stressed the they would rely on Science,Facts and Data/Evidence.

There is so much more to come. I def cannot watch full time in real time. Easy enough to catch up later.

AJ is a better lawyer and presenter IMO but Brennan is capable too. So I like that the dynamic does not feel so uneven like it did with Lally.

(One very small thing - Brennan said JOK grew up in Canton if I heard him correctly. Not so. JOK was a Braintree guy - Braintree HIgh and Northeastern. He moved to Canton to take care of the kids. So he was not a Canton homeboy - makes a difference ).

I believe that due to the crazy way this entire case was handled from the get go, there is absolutely no way to be sure either way. NG.

I am not sure she is G, I just think she will be found G, I struggle to get beyond the corruption, so I think the actual truth was lost once LE began tampering with evidence and lying about evidence, then witnesses lied, if their was no reason to lie why lie, and why hide evidence from defence, JOK was a police officer, the case should have been investigated as professionally perfect as possible,

Yet LE are collecting blood his blood in red cups, not collecting or documenting his clothes properly, I have huge issues with LE in this case, and saw no real evidence to prove a collision in first trial,
I respect that.

I think it was a bad accident and she may not remember what she did.

AJ just nailed the EMT witness cuz JO had no winter coat on!

This is why it’s so stupid the commonwealth to try this case again, my opinion only but ANY inconsistency of testimony is going to get challenged and the defense has it on record, to me, it’s day one it’s already just falling apart and we’re days and days away from the worst parts the troopers and police did wrong, it’s going to be wild

This guy is nothing but a liar. Caught in his lie about the big puffy coat he said JO was wearing from his perfect memory of that incident. He should be impeached. JMOO

Yes, there is so much reasonable doubt sprinkled everywhere in this case due to the the totally fubar investigation. So I am team NG all the way just on that.

From the first trial I am a total NG even without reasonable doubt thrown in.

The testimony from Arca that NO vehicle hit John. The dog bites / how did the blood run down his shirt as well as the vomit get into his pants if he was just lying down dead instantaneously on the lawn? And so much more.....

I came to this case as a local thinking she was guilty but found quite the opposite.

Lots of common sense needed here and the ability to be clear on what is real and what is make believe.

Didn't anyone put a coat on top of him to try to warm him up?

I am a clear Not Guilty. Especially after watching the first trial.
It was the moment I saw JOK's right arm picture that solidified it for me, that those wounds were definitely NOT caused from a vehicle hit. The state jumped at Karen Read as a cover, to something else. The SODDI defense is rightly on target. IMO

Firm Not Guilty here. The first trial proved beyond a reasonable doubt that there was NO COLLISION!

I will give Brennan this. He is at the least, more dramatic and engaging than Lally was in his opening statement. Lally had put me to sleep. However, Brennan is surely dramatic and embellishing with his. So far, he has missed the twinkling sparkling and dancing red tail light pieces piercing John O'Keefe's right arm. Whoops...
I think, even if only subliminally, engaged jury members respond better to sincerity than dramatics. It's hard to fake the former. Jmo.

I do think that Michael Proctor is absolutely corrupt along with many others. I cannot decide if KR is G...

That picture of the arm is truly influencing my opinion.
