Higgins clearly wanted more than friendship from Karen, and it seems obvious she didn’t reciprocate that interest in the same way. She was friendly, flirtatious, maybe open to a FWB scenario (and seemed to know or believe JOK was doing the same), but she wasn’t pursuing anything serious. That imbalance frustrated him, and it shows in how needy, controlling, and reactive he was being.

What’s really striking is that after weeks of texting and in-person interaction, when she told him John had died… he said absolutely nothing. NOTHING. That kind of silence speaks volumes. MOO.
In those texts he didn't seem needy to me (except in the biological way), he seemed uncertain. KR was being vague and he sounded if anything unsure and a little guilty. I'm thinking because he genuinely liked JO.

As far as not returning her "John's dead" text on that Sat JO was found, he probably knew all about the circumstances and what was there to say to her? They hadn't communicated much after she's gone to his house that night, on the 23rd.

Then she texts him "Phone works w/a both ways sign" His response seemed, to me, that he thought they were cooling it off and he was surprised she was texting him again. Then he tried communicating, nothing from KR until the 29th and "John's dead". I'm thinking by his not texting her back he either already knew because someone called him or he was calling someone on the force to find out what happened? Probably the former? AJMO

There are plenty of articles.
Yes, plenty showing that ARCCA was not paid for the defense until trial 1 had concluded. They issued an invoice. If the CW had taken on ARCCA as an expert witness, CW would have paid that bill. There is absolutely nothing scandalous going on here.

I’m not accepting…hook, line and sinker…testimony from witnesses who lied under oath about being paid by defense attorneys who misled the judge about the payments and had about three different stories for how that happened. I totally disagree with the ruling of the judge, who although acknowledging the defense’s bad behavior still allowed the testimony in.
I do not accept people beat a man to death and just carried his body outside and dropped it in the front yard.
I don’t think KR murdered him. I think she accidentally hit him. If she’s found innocent I will still think she hit him, but I’ll accept it and move on with my life.
I’m not ignoring anything.

Edit: forgot my link
I agree with you, very well said.

So the FBI risked their reputation for a fake report because they cared so much about Karen Reed got you.
This, exactly. If anything, the FBI wants to find the police dept is legit and doing the right thing.

Of course the AARCA folks sent a bill for travel and hotel expenses and such. The witnesses themselves didn’t get paid anything extra to testify. He repeatedly said he’s salaried and gets paid the same no matter where he is for the day. Do people expect ASRCA to send experts to testify on their own dime? I mean, the FBI paid AARCA to complete the investigation… are we suspicious of the FBI too?

I know, but you put forth the assertion that they lied to the jury and misled the Judge. I’m wondering if you have any evidence to support your claim. Moo.

At that point in time (the first trial), they had not been paid by the defense.
So he did not lie.
IMO.

My apologies.
Still doesn’t change my opinion.

There are plenty of articles.
I think you are confused on the way it was done. It was a totally independent study and both sides were given the results and able to use them. Yes they were paid for their time and work.

Wasn't an ARCCA witness communicating with other witnesses and the defense team when they should have been sequestering themselves from doing that, according to a court order?

Wolfe told the truth. They were not paid until AFTER trial 1. This really is not difficult to find.
And they were paid 24 k for their time and flights etc, NOT for their FBI commissioned work, report and findings!!! They did not lie under oath. This is just plainly untrue. The defense was sent an invoice for those expenses well after trial x1. Can you imagine the uproar if DOJ had actually paid for the expenses of the defense's witnesses? 24,K for x2 expert witnesses is drop in the ocean. It only covered their expenses to get there and testify, not the work they actually did. That was paid for by DOJ.

I think it may mean that the juror is wearing something sleeveless.
IMO.

After seeing the texts: I suspect Karen loved John but knew it was a deadend relationship and maybe thinking BH might be a potential boy friend. I find it very odd there were no further texts from BH to Karen after she said John was dead. NO questions? He is a police officer....maybe he knew, but did not think at that time she would be blamed.

Plus the ARCCA report was completed well before the defense ever contacted them or knew it existed.

Paid on July 25th of last year.
Thank you. 😊 So, 3-3.5 weeks after T1 concluded.
ARCCA had already been paid by the Feds (FBI and DOJ) for their work. This payment was to cover their travel and attendance fees for T1, NOT for their results.
ARCCA WAS hired by the defense for T2. They will be paid for by the defense.

Hahaha that makes sense. They must have great arms.

There is none. Moo

Well it was a condescending question being ask by the defense. MO
The defense asked a condescending question about a juror?
Edit: Never mind I know what you mean. The question was because the witness was pretending he didn’t know what theory meant. If anyone was condescending it was the witness.

Except they came to their determination per request of the FBI before they had ever even interacted with the defense.

ETA: If they knew all their cop buddies would help them out, I'm sure they'd have no problem dropping a body anywhere. JMO
