As in hastily scribbled that made me think is she actually writing anything of fact?? What is she really writing, so off the cuff and quickly and not pleased as we all saw. IMO
I just assumed she was vigorously keeping track of the evidence labeling as that seems to be very important to her. She must not have a lot of confidence in the 3 people paid to document such things for this trial. JMO

I believe him. I can't see a special prosecutor deliberately creating a situation where it's going to make the commonwealth look bad for having put incorrect information to a witness. Of course he would expect Karen Read's team to pick up on an error as big as that, if he was going to do it deliberately. Much as I think this defence team is grasping at straws, I wouldn't even accuse them of lying either, if they'd done the same.

It seems reason has gone out the window when I see twitter defense attorneys posted here calling it a deliberate lie.

So you are saying Brennan is that incompetent?

Was not in evidence and then pull it out of his.....

So on Law&Crime Network's live feed, when Brennan is bringing up the Test E with Rescue Randy while questioning ARCCA guy the feed just cuts off and goes to the fan? What happened to the rest of the cross?
Ohhh nevermind...Alessi is having another moment asking for a mistrial, about the holes in the hoodie. I guess it got snipped out of the feed😮 and I'll have to listen to Alessi's outraged voice and try and decide calmly what actually happened.

Sorry but as many things as I have had a problem with Hank him being dumb is not one of them. No way in this world I buy he didn't know exactly what he was doing. He is a dirty mob lawyer so I'm not surprised. JMO

And ‘stupid or liar?’ is not a great look for the CW, IMO

But wasn't Welcher prosecution's dummy? Seem right.
Yes I think so @ShadyLady ….. and IMO actually times 2? ;) /sarc

IIRC both Burgess and Welcher had that “Not For Expert Designation” watermark stamped on their viewable CVs. And yet, both called as CW expert witnesses for testimony. SMH. MOO

they lost their feed at the end, there was only about 30 seconds left of cross, no idea what was asked/answered in that time.

I don't think Mr Brennan wanted to stand up in court and have to say 'I made a mistake'.

I also don't think making a mistake makes one stupid, dumb, incompetent, or corrupt.

Dude defended Whitey Bulger. I’d say underhanded tactics are right up his alley.
JMO of course

R.I. chief medical examiner resigns after 11 years

Dr. Elizabeth Laposata, piled up a backlog of cases. Laposata left abruptly when it was discovered that she had misrepresented the extent of the backlog.

oh ok, well everytime I come back to watch I have to rewind, the feed isn't save the spot like it normally does. I'm watching Alessi mistrial arguing (he just gave the judge the wrong doc and is printing out stuff) so I'm getting the gist of it but will have to go back to see what actually happened with Brennan and the hoodie. Thanks

It wasn't just "twitter defense lawyers" ... it was Alessi's, an actual defense attorney, on the record, in the courtroom, in a live trial.

Posts on twitter ... other attorneys/judges opinions in news articles, in podcasts, etc. are always being shared to give perspectives outside of the lawyers and judges directly involved in the case. This isn't new.

Anyone can ignore what happened this morning... it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And it wasn't the first time. He did it with the DNA question last week, and he has asked questions that are not based in fact to witnesses. Just because this judge allows it, doesn't make it right and definitely does not make it okay.

If there are lawyers that agree with what Brennan did or how the judge ruled, I would really be interested to read their perspectives as well.

I'm saying the all tests are different than the forces that actually hit JO. They may give an example. I'm just really surprised the defense even wanted to call the ARCCA witness considering what Test E showed happening. But as I've stated, they probably had no other choice. My opinions.
Test E was the one going 24mph. The interpretation that it supports the CW's case lacks depth and doesn't actually engage with the underlying data presented by Dr. Wolfe and knowledge of JOK's injuries. This is a very shallow interpretation, IMHO.

Yes, and I'm pretty sure she loathes all of the defense team. And I betcha the defense loathes her just as much. I know I do.
I think she may loathe the defense team because she knows they can see her for what she is

nothing was snipped out of the feed. During the break, the defense examined the hoodie, after the break, they argued for a mistrial and for instruction to be given to the jury.

I guess the issue I have with this is even if he did it accidentally, what does that tell us about his attention to detail and evidence? A woman’s freedom is at stake here and he just “oops, looks like I missed that entirely” as if it’s no big deal? No.

That said, I absolutely think it’s possible it was intentional just to create more confusion since he clearly can’t attack the actual evidence of ARCCA.

Not a mistake, he assumed jury is not too bright or he is super bright and would be able to fool them. Think again. Clearly was said that they were obvious cut outs. TSK TSK. IMO
