OUI should have been a separate stand alone charge. Not sure why it was put under manslaughter charge.
Defense asked but Bev didn’t allow it. Something about oui being a lesser of manslaughter while OUI, therefore a CONDITION required to be met to be found guilty of Manslaughter while OUI.

But you don’t have to commit manslaughter while oui in order to commit OUI.

Everyone charged with OUI isn’t also charged with manslaughter while oui.

I CANNOT wrap my mind around it.

Maybe OUI should have been listed twice:
Once as a condition for manslaughter while OUI and again as a completely separate charge 🤷🏻‍♀️

That feels a little unnecessarily judgmental…
I have kids this age and they are on budgets. A free lunch is extra appreciated. Said another way, they are going to stay through the last free lunch if they have a verdict.

Respectfully, no one said it does equal that.

Respectfully, the CW did say that. That is exactly what they charged her with and have said to the jury.

Oh if I had sat through months of this and free lunch was on offer for one last time I'd absolutely be having my free lunch

You forget the pirouette that John did, and apparently his phone also did, to land perfectly under him!
If you want to put a dying man on your lawn and stage an 'accident' it helps to have taken high school physics

And it's not exactly free, they've got the most important job of this trial, and they've been working towards it for weeks. We're begrudging a lunch? Hell, take them all out for steak and cocktails when they're done, they earned every bite.

MOO

That is taking the posts out of context. It's a thread of posts and replies, discussing what was stated here.

people are talking about this jury like they are all just over 18 or early 20's. Have we confirmed there are not some say over 40?

nothing free is jury duty. Many do not get paid while off work.

It is beyond stupid. A complete crazy making mind bender. Slip 2 blatantly prevents a jury from being heard after their work; it prevents them from having their ng verdicts on the main charge and the other lessers recorded. Imo it's an up yours to the results of the hard work a jury puts in to deliberating and reaching unanimous decisions on the other Count 2 charges.

There are reportedly two or three jurors clearly over the age of 50. Most in their 20s and 30s.

Big favor.
Could you please watch the short I made for our Websleuths YouTube channel? It is an exaggeration about the possibility of a hung jury. Hope you like it.
Thanks,
Tricia

As a senior...I would not turn down a free lunch. They just might be celebrating!

I hope we get a verdict tomorrow!

Thinking tonight...

The one question today about her BAC and timing... I think it's telling that they used 12:45am and not 12:32... maybe reading too much into it?

I hope that dumb verdict slip doesn't cause another mistrial.
Then why wasn't she arrested by LE for OUI?? ???? I don't understand how because she was not seen by LE behind the wheel of a car she can be charged.

Or they base their opinions on actual science and not faces that a defendant makes JMO
Exactly I don’t get it it’s like saying she must be guilty I don’t like the color jacket she’s wearing

Since the clock is still ticking it appears the jury is working while having lunch.
I think Cathy tweeted that since we don't know if they're working during lunch, they were going to keep the verdict clock running.
