"Multiple jury members have spoken out calling for a deeper investigation to track down who may have been responsible for O'Keefe's Jan. 2022 death"

“Now that the FBI knows Karen Read is not a suspect, something happened, and multiple jurors feel that way,” the foreman told the Herald.

The foreman says he’s calling on federal investigators to step in because “no one local should be involved in the investigation,” given the victim’s ties to local police.

“It was lazy police work,” the foreman said about the initial investigation, adding that “we should start some type of investigation of what went on in that house.”

“We just need to find justice for John,” the foreman told the Herald on Tuesday. “and get his mother some peace.”

I can’t remember where I read this but I think one of the law tubers was asked what happens to the Lexus. They said she may not get it back due to the OUI. I don’t know how these things work but I’m not sure what KR will do once the dust settles. One the one hand it would be great to get it over with. On the other hand, she didn’t kill John so she may fight it.
There seems to be a lot of talk about Karen suing the CW. Wrongful arrest I would guess.
I think there is a bucket of cash there for her as IMO the CW would settle before it ever got to court -
they are not going to open that pandora's box

Boy I did not realize you can sue the bar that overserved Karen assuming that Karen caused JOK's death. Since she was acquitted of that and no evidence proved she caused his death I don't see how a civil should even go forward. I would think Paul would want to go back to real life not in a courtroom.
Since she seemed totally in control as testified by Karina, I don't know how they can prove she was overserved. Yes they could find credit card receipts but she could have been buying drinks for others. Her BAC wasn't taken until later in the morning. She could have gone home and consumed more alcohol. I think it will be hard to prove.

We have to hope that it will be the FBI as locals on this forum have said that Morrissey won't do it.

After seeing Michael Easter’s interviews over the past few days, I wonder if the MSP did contact google with a warrant for search results for “hos long to die in cold” and didn’t like the result.
The CW would have to disclose that, I don't think they did it, or it wasn't done properly.

BUT... if you watched his interview on Justice Served the other day, he said:

“I know they were watching it because I was informed they were aware that I was going to testify, and wanted to know if I was going to testify about anything I knew about the investigation prior to leaving the Bureau.” He went on to say that he told Jackson that he couldn't say anything about what he did and it would have to be a fresh look.
(He says this around the 1:05:30 mark of the interview he did on Monday night)

So.. I believe that he was part of the original FBI investigation, he retired in Jan of this year. He even says he told Jackson that he couldn't or wouldn't say anything that he knew already but it would have to be a fresh look (at the case). So it is quite possible that the FBI DID do that and they DID get the results, so they know, Easter knows, and I don't know, maybe the defense team knows?

The more I hear, the more I think that the defense lawyers really do know more than they can say and little bread crumbs are being left with all these interviews. It is my understanding that the report that the FBI gave to the CW didn't have everything in it, they were also selective in what they handed over. It really makes me think that they thought that they will give them this report, they will drop the charges on KR and move on to another suspect or investigate further. They didn't do that.

The CW has a good amount of legal immunity in these situations and it's not a wrongful conviction as she was found not guilty. I don't think she'll end up suing anyone.

I know the civil is a low bar compared to criminal court but I don't see how they can prove any of what is alledged.

Who better than KR to publicly lead her followers and maybe others to demand justice for JOK? Locally and constantly speak out and have rallies. In their face rallies!

I am all for justice for JOK's family but at this point unless someone in the house decides to talk how could any arrests be made? Based on what information or evidence ? Unless his family spearheaded the movement nothing will move forward. Only exception is if FBI has something that we don't know about which is doubtful. AS for KR she will not be the one after all of this. She might make some money on movies etc. which would probably go to her attorneys. She seemed doubtful that she could go back to teaching or past career. AFter this all simmers down not sure why she could not. By all accounts she was successful.

Finally!
The jurors in the KR trail like most other trials refrained from criticizing their judge.
Hearing criticisms and a few agreements with Judge Cannone from a former Massachusetts's judge is well needed and actually refreshing.
Peter hits on many of the complaints about JC's rulings that have been debated here.

Well worth the listen.

It's my understanding that she doesn't lose her license. She's free to drive again.
I recall Brennan citing "24D" Disposition for the OUI which is mandatory alcohol education, and 45- day license suspension. I believe this applies to first-time offenders.

The investigators, prosecutors, judge, etc have lots of immunity for “official acts”. The city/county does not. Sue the city of canton. The city would want to settle because they would not want more dirty laundry to be revealed. IMO

Retired MA Judge Carol Erskine does a beautiful job discussing judicial discretion after first explaining the law and then comparing specific rulings in the KR trial side by side. To be clear, we were not imagining things. 🤯

While they don't have the same exact immunity the state does under the Tort Claims Act, all municipalities in MA have some degree of sovereign immunity and potential monetary caps on damages.

With that said, this is the US and you can sue anyone for anything. I just don't her prevailing in the court system against the town of Canton for having crappy cops who are clueless. It's not likely worth her time, money and effort. She wasn't convicted of anything and arguably would have no standing.

IMO listening to this judge was refreshing. She shares how she repeatedly witnessed Judge Canone’ negative stance against the defense. Many of us were discouraged throughout the trial after witnessing the unfair treatment Judge Canone displayed repeatedly. Her suppression of witnesses and pertinent testimony was criminal. It is a miracle that Karen Read was found not guilty because she did not get a fair trial. Her attorneys were handicapped at every turn Fortunately justice prevailed in spite of the abhorrent behavior of the CW.

She was fantastic. I like listening to her and Peter because unlike us who have no legal background, they are able to take the emotion out of things for the most part. I am really glad to see people like her and other lawyers who saw Cannone the way we did. It’s just a shame nothing can be done about her.
