there was also a black gentleman who disappeared after bar hopping in Minnesota. was found in water.

What I got from your link was a young white man, Andrew Jarzyk, in March, 2014. Is there another link?

Ah, I see you didn't give a link. The one I followed was from another poster. Do YOU have a link to the black gentleman?

yes, he was missing awhile, he was last heard from when his phone called his wife's phone and it sounds like he said "stop!" his name slips my mind.

And one recently in Detroit? I'll have to find the link.

The man in Minnesota - it took weeks to find his body, am I thinking of the right case?

The timing is what is throwing me off here too. I just can't imagine he left the bar at 1:20am and stood around in that area across the street for 20min in that weather before messaging his friends to leave. There is no way he would be enjoying a smoke for 20min in that temperature. There is no way he would be on the phone for 20min in that temperature just waiting around outside. He had no jacket! If the bar has surveillance that he left at 1:20am and the next time he is seen is 1:40am right across the street then where the heck was he for those 20min? There is no way I believe he was just standing around between the bar and the market for 20min! Did he go inside someplace between 1:20 and 1:40? A car? A store/restaurant that was open?

IMOO... I think this will be a drug issue. The vague comments from family, seems to be a change in appearance also. Hopefully I am wrong but the Heroin around here has been deadly.

Here's the scoop on the 40 or so similar stories. The whole smiley face killer thing. Most are saying just coincidence, drunk and careless, but one person did wonder why black males out drinking don't seem to fall in the water and drown...

Maybe they do, but in fewer numbers and so they don't make the lists. And there might be more than just skin color tying the cases together.

It would be so helpful to know who else, if anybody, he was on the phone with that evening. The bar says they can see in other surveillance that he was last seen walking up the road to the surface artery. There has to be more than that if he was outside for 30 minutes before friends and cousins noticed he was gone. I wish we knew these two details.

I hate to say it or even think it...but I agree. The 20 or so minute lapse in time is what's troubling me.

he has a thread here in located persons but it is some pages back, let me see if I can find it.

I'm in Colorado. In my 20's I probably would have gone out in freezing temps like that without a coat because it's one less thing to watch and I wanted to be cute (and I wouldn't want to pay to check it). In cold weather cities, you sort of adjust to the temperatures. 20 degrees for me would be nothing, 20 degrees for a Southerner would feel crippling. I know we're talking 9 degrees, and yes that's dang cold, but it's doable for a fun night out.

Insomniac that I am, I was up at 2am on that newborn Saturday, and although I didn't have a thermometer handy as I stepped onto my balcony, I can tell you that -9 might have been the official average tempt for Friday the 13th, but it felt several degrees colder than that in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

I've been in that part of town; the map looks rather straightforward but it's a maze of narrow streets and odd angles. I suspect he went out for his cigarettes, got turned around and went the wrong way around the block, and eventually wound up in front of the Market thinking it was the door of the place he left. (Of course they weren't letting him in. It was closed.)

It does not take long to develop fatal hypothermia at those temperatures.

That was my thought initially. The timing was why I thought that. Why not wait and have that smoke when everyone leaves? Unless you you were waiting for a "Last Call" of a different sort...get a text, "we're here now" hustle out the door...

Another thing...
Funny how deserted the area looks in the video we see of Zach. Where were all these other patrons going in and out?

I do hate to give voice to the drug angle as well, kinda like speaking I'll of the dead, (and by now, I must say I think the lad is gone), but we do want to understand what happened to him and it is an important aspect to be considered.

Here is link to a reddit thread, the second comment is from Zach's coworker, he mentions Zach always coming to work,

"Even with the worst of hangovers from a weekend of drinking" (paraphrasing...It speaks to possible substance abuse issues, at least with alcohol).

I agree with most of your post, except the jacket. I've lived in cold climes all my life, and spent many a year frequenting drinking establishments. Seldom, if ever, was anyone thrown out for good without their jacket and stuff. To my way of thinking there is something WAY off here. What? Were they in the business of selling second-hand coats in cold weather? Something is WRONG, IMO.

You've never been to Boston. If he was so bombed they would have likely just shut the door on him. I don't think they really care at that point. It's near closing time. The kid can't stand straight. They don't want him there any longer. They probably told him to call his friends and get out.

The timing. The timing is off.

If Zach just ran out for a smoke or to make a quick call...it would have taken a couple of mins.

Something else took place during his time outside.

Still praying for him and his loving family.
Maybe. But if he leaves said bar at 1:20 AM. Let's say he gets kicked out. He probably looked over at the Boston Public Market and because the lights are on he thinks maybe he can go over and buy some smokes lets say. Maybe he stumbles around for a few minutes and finally makes it over there. He goes over realizes its closed. Smokes his last butt. Snapchats his cousins. Certainly feasible that he's out there until 1:44am (time on that second photo). Remeber he has a sweater on and is bombed (can't feel anything). Starts walking to the train thinking he can still catch it. Then I think it's either one of three possibilities--1)he was abducted and is either still alive or dead 2)he accidentally stumbled into the water somewhere 3)intentionally stumbled into the water somewhere. I think if he froze to death he probably would have been discovered by now.

Totally. No door guy wants to be cleaning up barf or breaking a fight up that night

But thing is, he didn't even get to the Bell till 10pm or a little after, and cousin Amanda stated he had maybe three drinks, (plus the one they had before leaving her southie apt).

I know you can't read too much into a still pic, but seeing some of the instagram pics from that night, he does not look that drunk/or stoned in them really.

Yeah that's what she stated. Have you looked at dude's Instagram page? Loves his craft beers. And most are probably 7-8% ABV. It's his birthday. Probably knocked back a few 7% ers before going out. Few birthday shots. Few more beers. Maybe a little weed. You don't know when those pictures were taken either. Plus who says there aren't pills involved? Pops something at the end of the night that totally screws with him--gets disoriented. Goes out for a smoke.
