'Little ringleader'
She is very funny and often a little ringleader in nursery and with her friends," he said……
and still believed the "extroverted, vivacious and lively" little girl would be found safe and well.

I accept that if she was abducted she would have been drowsy from sleep-especially if she was given a dose of phenergen or calpol to make sure she did sleep whilst they partied, but surely she would be wriggling and saying 'where's mummy/daddy....there would have to have been a car right outside the apartment, surely you wouldn't risk carrying a child down the street who might be putting up resistance...ok something - chlorophorm(sp) may have been used to sedate her....but wouldn't that have shown up in the forensics? I've also wondered, was there a sheet or towel missing from the apartment that was used to wrap her in-if so why not put out an appeal for anyone that may have found such an item dumped, or did the 'perp' go prepared with their own 'cover'.................too much just doesn't add up with 'Team McCanns' account of events.

Great thoughts and I agree. If she wasn't drugged, she had to know her kidnapper. Someone they had been in contact with just that week even.

Why aren't the McCann's urging an investigation and asking for information on any of these people? And they've kept their other kids there, doing the same things they did while Maddie was with them.

It could be that the perp just grabbed the closest child he could. Maybe Madeleine was not the target but just a 'child' was and she happend to be the one he or she grabbed..? Remember it was dark and IF the parents were checking regulary, the perp only had a small window of time to get in and out... so he just grabbed a child and ran... Maybe Madeleine was not targeted spefically. The perp could have ended up with any one of those children....but he just happend to grab the closest to the edge of the bed....?

colomom:-

"Kate came screaming back to the group crying, 'They've taken her, they've taken her'. Gerry was crying and roaring like a bull.
..............

This is the line that has bothered me from the beginning. Who are "they"??? Why not "Madeleine's Missing"? Why did she assume that Maddie had been taken and not just wondered off?? Since they left her unattended, I can think of many other things that I would have thought about first before I "assumed" that my child was kidnapped. And why "they" - "Someone has taken her" would have been the more logical choice of words if you thought someone did take her. Why would she assume more than one person was involved???

One innocent explanation could be that since there was a complaint earlier in the week about a child crying in their apartment, she thought the hotel staff had her?

Had the McCann's been threatened in anyway before?

I believe they said Madeleine was in between the twins and not closest to the edge of the bed.

I believe they said Madeleine was in between the twins and not closest to the edge of the bed.

I've been led to believe that the twins had "cots" (is that a crib over there in the UK?) on either side of the bed, so technically Madeleine was in the bed by herself.

I thought this was quite interesting, this happened less than 7 weeks before Maddie:-

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/global/article1532916.ece

Spain’s sun-kissed Canary Islands, where thousands of British holidaymakers will shortly head, have been convulsed by the disappearance of a 7-year-old boy, the second time in recent months that a child has gone missing in mysterious circumstances.

"They have taken my son and are doing something awful to him,” said his disconsolate mother, Ithaysa, who is just 24-years old and has another one-year-old baby.
Family members have said they have scarcely been able to eat or sleep since Yeremi disappeared nine days ago on the archipelago’s third largest island. The mother has had to be sedated.

Now that to me is how a mother would react, and this poor woman has a one year old to think of........

This boy hasn't been found yet either? Any news/theories on him?

I don't know exactly what to think about the McCanns....on one hand they seem very much the grieving parents, doing everything they can to keep their daughters photo out there....but on the other the photos of them smiling with the twins, eerily reminds me of the pictures of Scott Peterson smiling at Laci's vigil. And didn't he (Scott) say something to the effect of say what you want about me, just keep her photo out there, keep looking for her. Makes you think.

I would be very upset to hear about the possible location of my daughters body through a tip to a foreign newspaper....but I'd also be out there searching myself if it meant finding my daughter.

I believe they said Madeleine was in between the twins and not closest to the edge of the bed.

Who said that? The McCann's? Well a lot has been said then changed and said again.. so in reality we really don't know the sleeping arrangments of the kids...

I just can't help but wonder how these two, especially Gerry, would deal with losing control, before this kidnapping. I don't think they've often been on their own with their kids without help, how do you get a three year old and two twins on vacation to bed at 7:30. How did they handle tantrums, etc. I hate that the thought is in the back of my mind but something is so not right with all of this. Whomever was the last person to visually eyeball that child in bed needs thoroughly interrogated. We've never even had confirmation if that was one of the parents and wether it was at 7:30 or 9:30. There's no answers, no clear suspects that stick, they better start right back at the very beginning, soon.

I thought the exact same thing.

IMHO, the parents are extremely passive about the investigation and that really doesn't sit well with me. I just don't get it

I think I would have gone to the hotel staff immediately and I would have been :furious: thinking they had taken her. Screaming from the room makes me think fear, she was scared.

I haven't heard about any threats though I have read alot about this "group" (blonde woman, 2 men?) that they interviewed early on. Did the parents know any of them personally?

I wish I could find the actual video clip I thought it was very telling:-

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/t...objectid=19212188&siteid=66633-name_page.html

The film was captured after their friend tried to take a photograph but ended up recording the group.

Madeleine - holding her Barbie bag - can be seen swinging her legs as she sits next to her brother.

Kate is seen grinning as she ruffles Sean's hair and holds on to Amelie's arm.

Glaswegian Gerry is looking serious, which prompts his friend to joke: "Cheer up, Gerry, we are on holiday."

He was looking as miserable as sin, obviously an unguarded moment if the freind was intending to take a picture and not record him.......if he was already stressed on the way out who knows how he felt 5 days in.....

I've been quiet about this case. Just reading all the interesting posts. Not trying to judge the parents. Something is just not sitting right with me about them. Don't know what it is yet, but I just don't get them.....
:twocents:

I think if anyone in the inner circle with known access to Madie doesn't want a place thoroughly searched, that's exactly the place that should be searched, every square inch of it.

Another thing about that photo of Kate and Gerry smiling makes me think of is Beth Twitty. When Natalee went missing over 2 years ago I STILL to this day haven't seen Beth give a smile as big or as happy as Kate's smile. Beth still looks somewhat tired/distraught over Natalee's disappearance.

Want to see something creepy?

http://revelation13.net/KingJames2f.html

Take it for what it's worth (which may be nothing, false prophets and all) but it creeped me out.

As a hobbyist linguistic, I read the Bible Code book several years ago.
IMO,I take this as a mathematical approach to language and give it little but some creedence. Interesting attempt at trying to give a scientfic approach to a bunch of words.
http://www.wdbydana.com/philippi.htm
Taking a quick glance at this--my interpertation would be very different.
Philippi is located in Macedonia-Greece.

This code is such a word game and is open to the one interperting it.

Personally,I don't put much into it---and hope it is not true.

But interesting at best. And Creepy indeed.:(

Thanks for the link

The more I read about the LE in this case the more I am bothered...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madeleine_McCann

a snippit.."There was criticism that, on 6 June, two of the senior police officers involved in the case......, the head of the regional Policia....laughed and joked during a leisurely lunch as the McCanns appeared on a television news broadcast. Then on 9 June family members complained of harassment by the police when they tried to put up 'missing' posters at Lisbon Airport and there were suggestions that the Portuguese authorities wanted to prevent these posters being displayed over concerns about damage to their tourist industry...."

There's more in the last 2 paragraphs.... where it mentions that LE never contacted the people that stayed in the apartment that the McCann's are staying in now. I would think they would to rule out their DNA.

And whatever happened with the DNA they took AGAIN from Murat?

Wow.  Great questions.

I forgot about Murat's second DNA because the first was botched or lost depending on which report one reads.

And the DNA they have *without a name*!!!

The joke of a search really got to me this morning.:(
I hope the McCanns have PIs even if it ticks off the PT LE. But I fear not ...imo.

And unless PT LE asks directly for help from other agencies, they will not be stepping in!!!!

:banghead:

Check this case out...here in the USA...if parents leave kids and something happens to them...THEY GO TO JAIL! Do you think these mothers aren't going to be arrested for leaving their kids alone and they were 3-8 years old?! The McCanns get to not only walk away from it...they get to jet all over the world instead of sitting in jail. Sheesh! I guess it is a good thing they were in Portugal instead of here in the States. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,282934,00.html
