Good point cushty - I have always just thought the police were asking in general: "did you ever slap your daughter" but going back and re-reading it, it does sound much more specific..... hmmmm......

Well, if she had never done it, she would have certainly told the police that. Her silence- if this is true- seems fairly damning.
This board makes me think of the Godfather- or am I thinking of the Sopranos--just when I think I've gotten away, it pulls me back in. This case continues to fascinate. Thanks for keeping it going, kids.:clap:

OMG! I have just had a close look at the pic. Yes the fingers are mishapen but have a look at the arm it is not her arm holding the ice cream cone look at the break, the arm actually ends, it is not attached to anything you can see the pattern of the dress in the gap. Her arm is going down the ways. can anyone else see this?

Yes I see what you are pointing out. I also do not think this is Maddie. I did an eyebrow comparison with none pictures of Maddie and they do not match up. It certanitly is a weired picture.

Page 30 the poster has shown the full pic & claims it has not been photoshopped, read on there is a clearer pic. I don't understand how the pic became so distorted as to show the break in the arm, most peculiar.
Thread is quite ugly in parts & has now been closed! Thank God this forum is much more civilised!
However, look at the ice cream cone in the new pic, it is impossibly long, nothing normal about this pic!

Despite the findings of the poster that the pic is genuine I still question the original pic. If you compare both photographs - the one with the severed arm & the one where the arm is joined to the body the arm is in a different position in relation to the flower on the dress in each one. Most peculiar indeed!

Very interesting you say you think it is not Madeleine, I would love to see the pic that you compared it with if you could post link here please, TIA!
There are so many differing pics of Madeleine that one wonders!

Barnaby - I don't think she is wearing makeup - could be my computer, but I just don't see it. I do think she was probably crying not long before this picture was snapped. Her eyes look puffy to me and a little discolored, but it doesn't look like makeup to me.

Maybe the picture got distorted just from all the various ways it was copied and posted? I don't know......

I disagree that it has to be eyeshadow. That sort of effect is easy to do with Paint or Paint-Shop-Pro. You just outline the eye in black.

I don't think anyone is sitting beside her holding the ice cream cone either - all they had to do was find a picture of another child holding that and cut and paste the arm. It's easy and it doesn't take much skill, either.

We know the McCanns like to "revise" their lives to make themselves look good, so "revising" pictures of their beautiful daughter really doesn't surprise me at all. It's like those beauty pageant parents that make their little girls wear false teeth and spray tans - the original isn't good enough. What they really want is a doll who won't complain.

It doesn't have to be for child reasons - I've known parents in my own family who were perfectionists and would fuss if their child got a little bit dirty. (And sometimes their kids grow up to be obsessive compulsive, too). I sincerely doubt that Kate or Gerry would hand Maddie a huge ice cream cone that might make a mess, so I believe that's been added.

I'm still waiting for the 15yr old to respond as to where she got it from, I agree, but no worries at all. It's not going to make or break this case. I'm just glad i'm not the only one who though it looked....saliacious in some way. I think the teen who made the page had the best intentions and prolly thought it was her, but made a mistake that's all. I was looking at the one pumpkin pic of her dressed up at halloween the one I never posted, because I still dont think its her either! hard to tell with a huge costume on her face....it could be anyone really. So i've left it off all of my photo reels, collections, blog whatever.
Everyone is so protective of Madel, rightfully so. Maybe it's something she didnt get in the real world.

I have not been able to see the ITV doc...have you? Can you confirm that? Apparently it cannot be viewed in the states. Anybody?

The picture is most definitely from the McCanns documentary so it must be presumed that it is Madeleine

Yes I think it is her for sure mjak but would love to see your comparison pics anyway! There have been so many differing pics of this little girl, perhaps they were plucking & shaping her eyebrows as well as using make up on her! Weird!

That was my thought too, about the eyebrows. If they are really different it could mean plucking.

I grabbed those other two pictures (the one showing the attached arm and the one showing the lollipop) and I will post them on the pictures thread. Thanks B. You are a brave soul to walk among the weirdos on 3A's.
