In UK the verb "to film" usually means to make moving pictures. But when HCW uses the english verb "to film" I think he naturally assumes it has the same meaning as the german verb "filmen". Therefore I ask: in Germany does the verb "filmen" mean to make moving pictures, or to make a static picture?

Both possible, but the main focus of "filmen" is making a video.

No - and as I mentioned, we don't know what systems OC used. But if CB was routinely doing burglaries with the help of an insider, this info would not be hard to come by or guess, without the need for any complex surveillance. My guess is holiday weeks were sold as blocks - which is why a group of families leave on the Saturday (see the account of JW).

Of course not. Me neither.

Let me explain it better. I had not come across this before I lived in germany.

The term/half term holidays are 2 weeks. So for example, in October, many german families will fly to the sun in places like Canaries, Majorca etc. The two week season is expanded by the fact that the German states stagger their holidays so not everyone goes at the same time. Many places renting holiday apartments in Majorca for example, specifically cater to these german family seasons and sell "holiday weeks" in blocks. As the different state's holidays begin and end, the berliners leave and the hamburg people arrive for example. Families arrive in groups on the Saturday. On the Sunday the place did a welcome meal so everyone could mix. Otherwise we were self catered. Friends of ours stayed at a place more like a hotel/resort which had a week of activities like the OC creche - including for school kids. On the last night is a disco. Then it repeats. These bookings can be hard to get in popular places with people renewing their booking year to year.

For these FeWo (Ferienwohnung" = holiday apartments"), the opportunity is quite narrow because the german families can only go on holiday during these specific weeks. Indeed in Majorca the big places were all closing that final weekend once the last german school holidays ended). The Spanish areas were already shut as the Spaniards mainly come in the summer. The result of all this is the family stays tend to be sold in weeks either directly or via packages - because otherwise you end up with nights you can't sell.

This is not controversial - e.g a friend of mine does AirBnB of a holiday apartment for skiing and he does not accept short stay during school holidays. But outside the holidays he will accept weekend bookings.

Now of course outside the school holidays, or at hotels/resorts not targeting these family groups none of this applies. This is why it was cheaper to have kids who were not yet at school!

But I've long assumed with all these family groups at OC during that fateful week, that OC did in fact sell a specific week booking. JW describes leaving with other guests on the Saturday.

I agree. To suggest that hotels and resorts dictate when guests arrive and leave is rubbish - although my experience in NZ is limited, perhaps it’s the norm in that particular antipodean country.

It's not common in NZ because we normally have huge amounts of tourists outside the NZ school holidays who are the main source of bookings. And of course hotels and resorts often don't cater exclusively to the family market.

But I can tell you that for FeWo targeting German families, it is completely common not to take short stay during the school holidays.

In the end, the exact details don't matter because it seems clear that at least some of the families were on the common Saturday/Saturday booking

The parents indeed seem to refuse to engage with BKA, the reason could well be what you say, lawyers advice. They even denied receiving the letter that BKA sent them. So I don't see why we need to discuss this. Not yet at least.

Whatever case...if a suspect had help from an insider at OC ..their job made much easier.

And IF there is maybe a connection between the arrested Dresden guy and C.B., once accused and sentenced, the Dresden guy can't rely on his right to remain silent anymore and can be used as a (important) witness in other trials, related to that paedo-ring and darkweb activities.

For example about special conversations they had, shared footage, etc.. These darkweb paedo groups seem to be based on bringing footage to recieve footage, what i read so far. So many of them seem to be perverted enough to abuse their own children and share the footage of it. That's pretty sick!

So if C.B. used to be a customer on the darkweb, he must have published footage either, i would assume.

Right! After his conviction for the diesel theft (november/december 2006?) for a few weeks to a "girlfriend" in Dresden, then to Augsburg (AB?) and then back to Portugal.

So a possible Dresden connection could have been established shortly before MM's disappearance...
