Is it a rehash, why is CB not the focus?

They just managed to interview her, nothing more into this. Just trying to find something 'new' to say about the MM case, which of course is of no substance. Jmo

Paywall, but it seems as if CB intends to stay in Germany, also it seems it's a legal rule he'll be monitored after release because of the type of conviction he was jailed for. This according to his lawyer FF.

That's something at least. He is vile and dangerous and good if he will be monitored. Perhaps the prosecutors convinced the court that he needs to be monitored.

Are there any details as to what monitoring involves ?

Only that FF said supervision is legal and in this case acceptable because CB has a negative prognosis from the experts

An important point seems to be that visual evidence has indeed been found. But personally, I don't think the man is visible? And that it cannot be proven that the sticks etc. belong to CB or that he hid them there under the dog.

Just watching with English subtitles, CB was actually interviewed in 2013.

Seems, from previous (German) reports to be electronic tagging and restrictions on movement.

Ah the good old reliable British press reveal there are images that allegedly prove MMs death, but yet it's a German production and they said decisive evidence is missing.Oh and Smithman gets a mention.

I wonder how long and for what period of time this monitoring (or management supervision, as it's termed) lasts? It must have some restrictions - timescale-wise - when it comes to someone having completed their jail sentence and is essentially, as FF says, a free man.

Thanks for link, Richard.

I wonder if the psychiatric report at the unrelated trial is taken into consideration.

Surely the Court would commission an independent report before making a decision.

Maybe as a German citizen he qualifies for some financial/housing/healthcare benefits.

The problem for me is that the taint of MM-involvement - despite no official evidence to link the two - seems to be determining CB's post-prison conditions. Without it, he would be released with no conditions. And we wouldn't care about it because we wouldn't know about it because it wouldn't be on our radar. The only reason he's on our radar is because of the MM association.

So yes, I wonder if that 'taint' will impact the court's decision as to what level of supervision he warrants once he's released.

Nothing will or can taint the expert reports they have. According to the link provided above in FF's words: "The supervision of management is the legal rule for such convictions, not the exception. This can only be omitted if there is a clearly positive social prognosis. According to the expert reports we have, this is not currently the case"

His own lawyer agrees and accepts that the expert reports they have, regardless of CB's name "tainting", are not indicative of a positive social prognosis, therefore this supervision is completely unrelated to his role in MM because he is a vile and dangerous psychopath. Nothing has tainted this, only his actions and behaviour.

I wonder how many people would be happy for him to be their next door neighbour?

But still a murderer it does not make, all that CB is and his offending ,there's as far as we know only one killing he's allegedly a prime suspect in, does it compute? what crimes do they expect he'll repeat once out?
