He loves money. He has no money.

True, but from a previous BZ (^above somewhere, posted by @RichardKimble) article:

"It is the task of correctional facilities to ensure consistent care for prisoners and those in preventive detention, which helps them to lead a life without crime even after release. This assistance includes, among other things, finding accommodation and work, contacting advice centers, obtaining documents, settling debts and applying for social benefits.

As far as is known, Christian B. has no income. Most recently, he was unable to pay a previous fine. In freedom he is likely to be dependent on citizen's money."

No doubt the interest is there, but I wonder if he will talk to the media? I'd imagine that his priority would be to disappear (in as much as he can with the conditions imposed) into the ether until he's forgotten about.

That would fit his usual MO of disappearing from prosecution or incarceration, yes.
If he has nothing to worry about regarding MM, maybe he'll stay put and attempt as normal an ex crims life as possible?

Time will tell.
Yeah, let’s see what happens.

It’s hard to say how prison and the trials have affected him. In the past, he wanted to be someone he wasn’t - he wore a tailored jacket in the Algarve. He was also a braggart and a womaniser. This speaks of someone with an ego. His new found notoriety and the chance of a small fortune might loosen his lips.

Will that allow him to fill up the Jag or will he need to start siphoning fuel tanks again?

Does anyone know if the bones the police found in Portugal were that of MM at one point they thought maybe an animal and sent them to Germany for testing but I haven't been able to find any conclusive results also all the hard drive files of children he had that were buried by the warehouse he owned at the time of the disappearance, were any of those children identified, maybe they can't hold him with enough evidence for MM but maybe they could hold him for those if they could identify those children and hold him accountable to give the police more time to gather sufficient evidence I just can't belive they could let him walk like that. Madeleine McCann search uncovers 'clothes and bones' with police 'hopeful' of breakthrough

Can you please provide links ?

I provided it already twice.

Because from what I remember some of the same photos were found in the box factory, so they couldn't charge him again for the same crime of possession as they had already charged him for that together with the abuse of his gf's daughter.

The pictures in the case of his gf's child were the pictures he made of said child. If we are to believe the tabloid stuff then on the sticks found in the factory was an enormous number of other pictures, that could have been used as an evidence.

The law that would make a whole giant batch of illegal pictures invalid and unusable as evidence because of a number of duplicates that surfaced in earlier cases, would make sentencing repeat offenders in that field practically impossible, so no, there is no such law.

No I don't meant if there were pictures of children other than the one he was already charged with abusing than they could possibly identify said other children if thats the case and if they are also missing it could open other doors to get this man behind bars not with just by having child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 but if they could prove he has done something sinister to another child or children, obviously he has been doing this for awhile im sure there's more than just the one child he has abused with his criminalistic background

You might be right. I thought the off duty police woman uncovered it in early 2916 and then the large search was December 2016. I could be wrong though.
Just for reference.....There were two searches of the box factory, one in 2016 and another, much larger op in 2018.

"As the "Magdeburger Volksstimme" reported on Saturday, the dilapidated site was last searched in June 2018. "Several hundred police officers were deployed on the premises at the time. Christian Wolters of the Braunschweig public prosecutor's office confirmed to the Volksstimme that a joint search of the property took place with the Federal Criminal Police Office in 2018"

There have been varying reports of what was found including firearms, obviously because of his release they weren't related to the MM case.

BKA's finest have been working on his case since about 2018. If there was anything to find, I guess they wouls have turned it up by now.

From the spiegel article linked above, some interesting info

CB's passport was revoked from the municipality and instead they gave him an id card with validity only within Germany. This was already decided at a case conference in July, and Spiegel has seen the document with this decision, which among other things refers to a previous conviction for Child abuse and possession of cp. And concluded he is a risk to commit categorical sexual offences against women of any age after his release from prison and he is also a risk for fleeing.

An interesting thing from this: it would appear the trial for the abuse of his gf's daughter included the possession of cp! Which would in turn explain why they cannot charge him again With possession. Imo. And a reminder he only got 15 months (from the same judge that presided the most recent trial) ...

Yes, regarding the evidence for the SA charge and CP possession we can't be 100% sure what actual pieces of evidence came from where.

IMO after reading back through articles - We know NM reported CB in 2013 they found pics of her on his computer at the kiosk. It took them a while to ID her, but I believe other pics from the 2016 box factory raid helped ID her.
This is probably why JC said that the box factory evidence was used, in part, in that CA conviction (Telegraph article posted yesterday) So we can't be sure which pics were used in the possession charge. Pics from the box factory or pics from his computer at the kiosk or both. I suspect both.

Exactly this. And as we know, box factory evidence (pen-drives) with any duplicates from other convictions invalidates the whole content of a drive. But the judge not allowing any of the digital evidence is the reason for this obstacle. Nightmare for truth seekers!

Regarding the defence - They’re intelligent lawyers, therefore highly I doubt they’d be naive enough to believe he’s innocent. So they’ll be hoping there’s action - to raise their profile.

It may take until he commits his next sex crime for the prosecution to strike. Either way, in the long run, I think he goes down for this.

Respectfully, I don't understand what you are saying about the law. Can you be more precise. We are saying that they used and convicted him for cp with some of the same evidence they found in the box factory (duplicates). I doubt the municipality would revoke his passport and give him an id with Germany only validity if the cp they are talking about was the pictures he took of abusing his gf's daughter. Could they convict him again for the same and plus evidence??

Caveat it's the Sun

As part of their bid, Met detectives also applied to German investigators for formal legal assistance.

The status would give them access to all German files and witnesses amid apparent new interest from UK detectives in the case.

It follows claims from Germany that British intervention could be crucial to any hopes of keeping the case going.

"Asked if this could result in Brueckner being extradited to the UK, he said: "There are hundreds of questions. One of the reasons we are involved is murder is in many situations extra-territorial and potentially a murder of a British subject can in certain circumstances be tried in the UK."

Sir Mark said the German police "have done everything they possibly can within their law" and have "worked exceptionally hard on it". Madeleine, of Rothley, Leicestershire, shortly after she was left sleeping by her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, who went for dinner in a nearby restaurant."

This is what we were expecting to be the case - murder.
As is common with police forces, they don’t give a running commentary & we have absolutely no idea about context until something is said.

I think the UK may have become impatient with the Germans or the release unlocks something legally. Maybe the next faze is gearing up for an extradition. IMO it could be that extradition is a real legal minefield, but it does sound that they’ve taken advice. UK police don’t take too kindly to child murderers walking the streets.

A positive development

Some interesting quotes from the BBC

Local police spokesman Lars Dehnert told the BBC: "We said before that we wanted this to happen as smoothly as possible", adding that Brückner would be escorted for a short distance.
"With this our police operation has terminated", he added.
"We don't have any knowledge about where Christian B is going to go. This is happening in co-operation with his lawyers," the spokesman said.
One of Brückner's lawyers, Philipp Marquort, told the BBC: "I think Mr Brückner is just relieved that all of the release process is over and that he is now out".
He said that "all the drama of today has gone", adding: "I know where he is - but I can't say because he needs to now settle down... before his next court appearance".

For those who questioned whether he would get police protection. The answer is no
Nevertheless, Brückner has been handed strict release terms by a regional court at the request of prosecutors who fear their suspect could flee beyond their jurisdiction.
He will wear an electronic ankle monitor for five years as part of his probationary supervision, prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told the BBC.
He must also contact a probation officer at least once a month and get court approval of any change of residence, the prosecutor said.
Mr Wolters recently said that "the psychiatric expert assumes that due to his personality, there is a justified risk (that Brückner) will commit crimes again".

So, all in all, no police protection. Very strict monitoring among the 130 in total in Germany who wear this ankle tag for the maximum duration they could ask this - 5 years.

I wonder why his lawyers are so close to him? Is that normal in Germany to go and collect your client from prison, take them to a McD's, wait for them to have a burger and a cigarette, and escort them to a place you have arranged for them (presumably, because his lawyers had said he has no place to stay) ?
