FR keeps saying that the profile picture on GayRomeo was different than real life. I've seen a lot of pictures of LM and while he changes things up, you can definitely see that it's always him. So did he use some other person's picture entirely on GayRomeo to try to find a guy to sponge off of anywhere but Paris? Was he cognizant that he was now a wanted man and was not willing to use his real pic at first? And why did that change when he was staying with FR because apparently FR took pics of LM and helped him update his GayRomeo profile. Or was that why the naked pic had his head cut off? Is that the only pic that went online?

He was also using the name Kurt Trummell (sp?) and had a tag on his laptop case with that name and a New York address.

I suggest you were so drunk or you confused some meetings with him with other events in your life, Leclair says

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 43s44 seconds ago
Defence suggests witness was so very drunk or confused some meetings with #Magnotta with some other events in his life and don't remember.

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 34s35 seconds ago
Leclair is suggesting the witness doesn't quite remember his time with #Magnotta because the two were so inebriated.

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 29s30 seconds ago
Witness says he remembers very well and during 4 days with #Magnotta, went to brothel or Blue Bar and possible he was drunk

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 33s33 seconds ago
But witness says he's been drinking for 30 years and knows what he's doing.

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 28s29 seconds ago
Witness says he'd get anonymous calls that are not really friendly in contact with #Magnotta.

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 35s35 seconds ago
In order to protect someone in Germany, you have to give another name.

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 33s33 seconds ago
Leclair asks why Rubert spoke with the reporter using a different name.

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 46s47 seconds ago
Witness: first, it was the same name used 2 years prior. And it's for safety. The newspaper changed the name and indicated so.

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 29s29 seconds ago
But you allowed them to put your photo in the paper, Leclair points out. Under photo is name Bernd S

Michele Mandel ‏@MandelSun · 19s19 seconds ago
But agrees he let his photo be taken and published.

Steven Chmielash ‏@s_chmielash · 35s35 seconds ago
Leclair is bringing up the fact that even though his name was changed in the article, his picture is still featured.

  • #508
amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 46s46 seconds ago
Leclair points out that he wanted his name changed, so why did he let them run a photo? Caption on photo says he'll be in Canada

Stephane Giroux ‏@SGirouxCTV · 54s54 seconds ago
Rubert taken to task for giving a newspaper interview, using an alias. Says he wanted to avoid harassing phone calls

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 50s50 seconds ago

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 49s49 seconds ago

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 52s52 seconds ago
Witness says wants to know if Leclair wants to make a criminal out of him and it was over 20 years ago, nothing to do with #

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 43s43 seconds ago
Rubert: This has nothing to do with #Magnotta. I travelled thousands of kilometres and I don't need to hear my record.

Michele Mandel ‏@MandelSun · 1m1 minute ago
"Are you going to make a criminal out of me? These are things, 20-30 yrs ago and I think it's got nothing to do with #Magnotta," he demands

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 49s50 seconds ago
I made 5000 km to come here and you are bringing these things up that have nothing to do with #Magnotta

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 41s42 seconds ago

Stephane Giroux ‏@SGirouxCTV · 39s40 seconds ago
Rubert giving a piece of his mind to Leclair. Judge tells him he has to put up with it, under Canadian law

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 1m1 minute ago
Judge reminds witness he can be asked about his criminal record

  • #510
Why is Leclair wasting time on this stuff? None of FR's testimony is really all that riveting or game changing. He just makes up the part of the story as to how LM got from Paris to Berlin and why. Again...how does FR's criminal record, obvious decision to make money off his encounter with LM and his drunken imagination on their brief time together show that LM was mentally ill? Sounds like he was behaving normally...for Luka Magnotta. Question still is, is Luka Magnotta criminally insane?

Not sure Leclair is doing his client any favours by pointing out that everyone LM has contact with is as deviant as he is. They're not all insane Leclair. And I dare say...neither is your client.

In Germany it's not like this, Rubert says. You can read something and I will say yes once and that's it

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 2m2 minutes ago
Justice Cournoyer explains to Rubert that Canadian law allows for anyone to be questioned about their criminal record

Michele Mandel ‏@MandelSun · 1m1 minute ago
Rubert says he didn't fly 5000 km to discuss his old criminal record at #Magnotta trial. Very angry and frustrated.

Shuyee Lee ‏@sleeCJAD · 2m2 minutes ago
Witness says ok, read it once and then I'll answer once. I live in Germany and I'm not accused in Canada.

Stephane Giroux ‏@SGirouxCTV · 2m2 minutes ago
"I came 5000km to testify and you ask me about these things"?

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 2m2 minutes ago
Witness getting a bit testy. I live in Germany and am not accused in Canada, he says

amy minsky ‏@amyminsky · 2m2 minutes ago

Witness says it's when you call a policeman an idiot, when police interrogating someone, it's 30 years ago

  • #513
I don't understand where this is going, either :/

It's like he's trying to discredit a witness. Discredit him with what though? Yes LM met him online on a gay website and yes he invited LM to come to his home. The obvious inability for them to communicate means that FR is no character judge of LM's demeanor. The fact that LM did not hack FR up shows that he was not suffering from "delusions" during that time.

Move on already Leclair.... geez :gaah:

I know :giggle: He was holding his own pretty good there until the judge put a damper on the party and made him answer the questions. And we really need to do something about the fact that the person on trial cannot have their past records brought up but the witnesses can. Especially a witness who is not providing pivotal testimony, just factual information about a time frame.

Yikes...so he likes minor boys. No wonder LM was not his type. So he thought he had a young boy who was lost and needed help that he was inviting to come stay with him.

Still has nothing to do with this trial. Might be something for the police in Berlin to keep an eye on though. ;)
