Reporters yelling after them about images, press conference over. Special coverage on Sky News in Australia.

More from Australia: Ships, planes swarm to site. Largest object is 24 meters. Authorities not certain it's #MH370

Someone asked if there were only the 1 or 2 big pieces and the guy said NO, there are multiple pieces spotted around and near that 25 meter piece. It sounded like the other pieces were probably smaller.

Even if it is bad news, I could sit and listen to an Aussie all day. *sigh* Love the accent.

AMSA's John Young described the object seen by satellite as a "blob with an assessment of 24m" long, or about 78 feet. #MH370

Largest object spotted 24 meters..that's about the length from cockpit to the wing. Australia looks for confirmation if related to #MH370

My initial thoughts were, as some said, that they must be pretty sure if they're sending so many people there and giving official info on it that's going to stir up a frenzy. It's not like they had to address it because no one knew they had spotted anything until now. But now they seem really afraid to confirm and keep backing off from certainty - it's just a weird thing to do. I don't see how it serves any tactical purpose. Either wait until something is fairly certain, or don't keep saying you might have found something but it might be totally unrelated fallen cargo because the images are blurry.

yeh i did not get that either

I think that they are "awash" means they are partially submerged; ie, they are heavy objects, not styrofoam etc.
