Watching CNN covering interviews from Austrailia. Boy, I love their accent. Ive always wanted to visit that country. Seem like really nice people.

They're a cable news network. They're really good too. Very in depth with stuff instead of just headlines and few comments.
Dan I know they are, and I think they are good about somethings.

Satellites redirected to take high resolution images
Objects are of a reasonable size
! aircraft arrived in area at 1:50pm
3 other aircraft on route
All aircraft will be in area by 8:00pm
Merchant ship will arrive in area at 6:00 pm
Weather conditions are moderate but visibility is poor, will hamper search
Objects may be difficult to locate & may not be relevant to the search
Experts say this is a credible sighting
Objects are awash with water

Other countries involved are also being regularly briefed, they're at 'possible sighting' they will find them, and work out what they are in-situ.

There is debris out there, so there are objects at sea.

On this particular location, the size and number there make it worth looking at.

this really is in the middle of nowhere.....they are talking about offers from other nations....so they have been sitting on this news for a while before we the plebs learnt of this.........asking how common to find a large piece of debris in that part of the ocean....they said there have been cases, but the size and the no of pieces located in the same area says it is really worth looking at......

24 metres? A wing length?
It might be fuselage I think wings or the tail are more likely to float though. The tail in the Air France flight AF447 was floating in the sea I watched the tv when it was located.

What does "awash" mean, as in the objects were awash?

Confirmation can only be provided on actual sighting. Four aircraft are in the vicinity now and a ship is also heading to the site. Large piece of debris are sometimes found in this vicinity but in this case the size and number of debris makes it more likely that it could be the missing aircraft.

They're going to provide imagery at the earliest opportunity and are working on it.

Basically they're sending in as many ships and aircraft as they can, and moderate conditions there, poor visibility however. They hold 'great concerns' for passengers and crew. Re-emphasises the objects may not be related. Indistinct on imagery. They are 'credible' sightings and a reasonable size and possibly 'awash' with water bobbing up and down on the sides. (?)

Well they have to do something.
but at this point I think it’s all diversion.

Sadly we are dealing with lives. :(

Are we allowed to post ship specifically seen on vesslefinder.com here that has been in the area appearing to search for over 24 hours and the coordinates etc? don't want to do something that is against TOS but some in chat downstairs have been following this for awhile. But don't want to post specifics unless allowed.
