Not only is there no physical evidence but there have been no reports of an explosion etc, that I have seen.

It would be a miracle if this plane had landed safely. Wonder if there is an area so remote that there is no that can reach them or that they can send out. Gives me goose bumps.

Precisely, popsicle. Although I may be wrong in the final analysis, I feel like it's time to widen the scope of the discussion, and ask the great minds here to take Woe.Be's post into consideration.

Where would those possibilities lead us? What is in range in that area of the South China Sea? Now that we have access to detailed satellite maps of the area, why not look at every available landing area that can accommodate an aircraft of that size? We have experts that can direct us.

Just imagine if MH370 was able to land. As you stated, we have no evidence of a mid-air explosion (you made an excellent point: ear witnesses surely would have heard it on the ground).

Has anyone reported the sound of the aircraft hitting the water? I recall something about a witness seeing the light of something falling from the sky on the last thread, but it lacked the flashing red lights. He did not report it until the next day, after hearing about MH370 being missing.

I could be wrong, and if I am, I apologize. I am just trying to consider every avenue/possibility. We have amazing minds and a vast wealth of knowledge here at Websleuths, and I have a great respect for all of your POVs and input.

What do we have to lose by pooling that towards considering other options that have not been considered, in the hopes of uncovering something that hasn't been analyzed yet? There is hope in that, and that optimism stands for something. JMO. :moo: :twocents: :grouphug:

It is 741pm eastern time. Would that make it 841 am Malaysian time?

ETA KL time is 12 hours ahead of Eastern time. Should be daylight, good for searching.

musical joke posted this in thread 1:

Would it be possible for the plane to drop below the radar and then take off for North Korea without being detected?

Was this answered? Is it possible?

Benjawan Narkmaraka runs B.N. Massage in Patong, where renting motorcycles to tourists is a sideline, as it is for so many small businesses all over the Thai holiday island of Phuket.

Local police from the regional west coast station in Patong went to the massage shop this afternoon in the wake of international concern at the ease with which passports can be stolen and sold on Phuket.

Today Khun Benjawan's recollection was different. ''Luigi was a regular customer,'' she said. ''One day, when a relative was looking after the shop, a Russian man came and said he needed the passport back so his friend Luigi could make a cash exchange.

''The Russian man said he was prepared to leave the passport of Luigi's Russian girlfriend as a swap for Luigi's passport.''

So Mr Maraldi's passport was swapped for the Russian woman's passport, Khun Benjawan said. When Mr Maraldi returned looking for his passport, he was told ''Your girlfriend has been to the shop.''

But the Russian woman who owned the passport had reported it stolen to Patong police just one day earlier.

Who in their right mind leaves their passport in the hands of a shop owner while a tourist?
Hinky, hinky, hinky. IMO.
A hotel may ask to copy a page of your passport but if anyone asks to keep your passport, run for the hills! :hills:
Now I'm wondering if the request for a copy is safe.

WTF???

Titled: Busted! Flight Radar Caught Changing Flight Path of Malaysia Flight 370!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNZtz-HVy6c

Is there anyone on here, where are the pilots, who can tell us if this is on the up and up or not? It is like #370 is trying to change course and altitude to avoid a collision with something. I hope this isn't a hoax because if so, that is pretty cruel.

If this is the case and it is hijacked somewhere, it means they would have had to have taken everyones mobiles and tech devices to stop someone getting a message out!!

Wifi can be switched off, but IIRC this aircraft type doesn't even have Wifi on board?

What bothers me more is that there were so many people on the plane, does it really take only two or four men to controll them all?

Why aren't we hearing much from the families of the Chinese, or indeed family/friends of anyone on the flight? I'd have expected stories about the passengers by now.

Correct me if I am wrong, but as a communist country, the People's Republic of China "influences" their citizens' access to the internet (this happened during the Olympics), and I would not be surprised if this extends to how they respond to media interviews. Unfortunately, many sites are blocked, and what is being viewed in (mainland) China is vastly different than I see, as the censor and filter content.

I will have to search for a link to support my opinion, so :moo: for now.

In Malaysia Airlines Disappearance, Terrorism Fears Fly in China
The country's netizens speculate about the missing plane, while its state media stays muzzled.

BY RACHEL LU
MARCH 10, 2014

The schism between Chinese mainstream and social media depictions of the flight's fate has caused consternation among some social media users. In a post that was later deleted by censors, one Weibo user fumed, "Vietnam is still searching; Malaysia Airlines is still denying; Chinese navy ships are still on their way." Meanwhile, "The People's Daily is still sensationalizing; CCTV is still reporting on the two meetings; Weibo is still deleting; reporters are still at the Lidu Hotel" in Beijing, where families of the missing Chinese passengers await further word of their whereabouts. China, he concluded, is "still worrying."

Still have to show passport in other EU countries but don't need visas, further questions are fairly unusual (in my own experience and I have never heard of fellow Brits being questioned too rigorously) but still have to get through passport control and customs. No form filling like on some longer haul flights.

Illegal immigration purposes are a definite possibility in the case of "Luigi & Christian", it may just be coincidence they were on that flight, I reckon our Iranian friend "Mr Ali" might well know more about this! The fact he apparently asked the ticket agent for the cheapest route suggests he did not dictate which airline or flightpath they travelled on.

To add to this.... so yes, someone with a EU passport shouldn't have too mnay problems getting into an EU country, may be questioned depending on previous countries visited. However, I would be astounded if Amsterdam (Schiphol being one of the main EU hubs) don't check with Interpol for stolen passports.

I have seen the interview with the Australian wife who was saying her young son has been asking if daddy has landed in Beijing because they were supposed to Skype..

It was a motorcycle rental shop. Sounds like the shop was renting out motorcycles and took passports as collaterals.
Then it gave Luigi's passport to some supposedly Russian guy.

Keller mom of man on missing Malaysia flight: 'I'll see him again one day'
DALLAS — A North Texas mother and father confirmed their son was among those on a Malaysia flight that vanished less than one hour after taking off Saturday from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

The man was identified as 50-year-old Philip Wood, who was on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 when it disappeared over the Gulf of Thailand in the South China Sea. The jet was carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

"Do you want to know how it feels to lose a son at the age of 50?" said Sondra Wood, Philip's mother, Saturday from her Keller home. "It's devastating. But, I know in my heart that Philip's with God and I plan to be there with him because I have a deep faith in my God."

His mother said she was enduring her loss through the help of loved ones.

"I will see him again one day," she said.

Anyone else searching tomnod dealing with a map at 349AM in the morning? My entire screen is BLACK, so I doubt this is helping here.
The screen appears dark to me too but moving through tiles, I started seeing clouds and boats.

Just found this interesting list on Wiki. (pinch of salt perhaps..) [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aerial_disappearances"]List of aerial disappearances - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
Using the heading arrows you can sort by type/year/number missing etc.
This is the biggest missing flight ever (in terms of aircraft size and number of passengers), surely they have to find it!

there are so many weird things with this one...

the 5 non shows has me quite bothered.

But also with the stolen passports being used for illegal immigration.....both of the tickets were going into Amsterdam, and one was going on to Copenhagen.....so they have EU passports, on one way tickets, so should be fairly easy to get in...

but as you mention above: the stolen passports are on Interpol database, and Amsterdam would have very advanced technology......now also IF one of them was black, he is arriving on a Italian passport with a name of Luigi Maraldi.........and probably wouldn't have an Italian accent!!! so would have to rely on English..........I just think this was a bit risky to try and get in illegally into a place like Amsterdam

I am still really wondering about the flying under the radar as well.....stranger things have happened.....

especially when there are reports like the one below from the fishermen
