Australian Defence Minister to give press conference on #mh370 in 1 hr.
I vote nothing we dont all know!

What is the Bluefin-21?
![]()
An autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) designed for deep-sea surveying.
It has a "swappable payload". It will first use sonar in the search and will be refitted with cameras if something is detected.
It's 5m long and weighs 750kg. Has an endurance of 25 hours underwater at a speed of 3 knots, with a top speed of 4 knots.
It has a depth rating of 4,500m, meaning it will be at its limit in the Indian Ocean search zone.
Bluefin Robotics says its AUV can also be used for archaeology, oceanography, mine countermeasures, and unexploded ordinance.
Not that's been released.
All we've seen is the passenger manifest, but it never showed seat locations.
Would a "jump seat" pilot even be on the manifest? IIRC, you can get on the plane minutes before takeoff. Even then, you still might not get on the plane.
So it could be possible there was a pilot in a "jump seat."
A GREEN alien right!

I am getting prepared to be "miffed". Fool me 11 times, shame on you. Fool me 12 times, shame on me.
I feel like they saw an alien and then lost sight of him and are now trying to locate him/it again...
I, for one, happen to appreciate the press conferences, even if they aren't to report a huge discovery...so far.I guess because we are all different types of people, it is hard to keep everyone happy.
If we don't get a press conference, some say 'what is going on, why aren't they telling us anything, what are they hiding?'
If we do get a press conference, some say 'same old, same old'.
I think they are genuinely trying in the best way they can to keep everyone informed with the information they have at hand and that can be politcally/diplomatically/operationally released in this very slow, tedious and painstaking search operation. They are trying to do it in a face to face manner, so people can see and feel their concern ... and ask questions.
I guess they could just release the odd report when they felt like it, and let everyone wonder. I'm glad that they haven't decided to follow this path.
