The oxygen generators for the passenger masks only work for about 5-10 minutes. Just long enough for a pilot to usually get the plane to a lower altitude. Pilot masks are hooked to an actual oxygen tank.

To add to this, cockpit masks for pilots also have the capability of delivering oxygen under positive pressure, which is necessary in some decompression situations above about 25-30,000 ft (when time of useful consciousness drops off precipitously). Similar to the masks used by fighter pilots, except pilots of heavies don't have to wear them all the time.

Passenger masks are analogous to the simple facemasks used in ambulances and hospitals-- continuous flow, low concentration.

Here is an explanation:

My husband has a theory I've not heard yet. What if the pilot was in distress (terrorist threat or whatever) and was flying erratically trying to get someone's attention since all communications and radar was cut.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I assume he would have tried sending out an emergency transmission before communication was cut. It only takes a couple seconds to get a squawk out. But if communication was cut before that happened, then that theory seems plausible!

But what would other aircraft have been able to do about an erratically flying plane? I guess they could have made contact with an ACT to report something....

Four days after the missing flight MH370 a patent is approved by the
Patent Office

4 of the 5 Patent holders are Chinese employees of Freescale Semiconductor
of Austin TX.

Patent is divided up on 20% increments to 5 holders:

Peidong Wang, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Zhijun Chen, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Zhihong Cheng, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Li Ying,Suzhou, China, (20%)
Freescale Semiconductor (20%)

If a patent holder dies, then the remaining holders equally share the
dividends of the deceased if not disputed in a will.

If 4 of the 5 dies, then the remaining 1 Patent holder gets 100% of the
wealth of the patent.

That remaining live Patent holder is Freescale Semiconductor.

Who owns Freescale Semiconductor?

Jacob Rothschild through Blackstone (what an interesting name for a
company) who owns Freescale.

Here is your motive for the missing plane. As all 4 Chinese members of the
Patent were passengers on the missing plane.

BBM.
I personally don't believe the two Iranians had anything to do with this plane going missing. Authorities have already ruled both of them out as being part of any terrorist organization.

Neither do I

I totally agree. The one kid, by all accounts, was just looking for a better life.

I think he is a conspiracy person too. While there are reports that the plane did jump in altitude, he shows it going on the same path. Personally I think it is just a problem with flightrader24 software after the fact.

I do believe it went west. :twocents:

Has there been any word on what if anything was in the cargo, being transported/delivered? Just cauious as to what the pay load was.

Not that I know of.

If it happens in a few days, you know this was all just a social experiment and there never was an MH370, just computer following. As the news seems to hit on what the computer chatter seems to follow.

Bizarre.

Not helped by all the muddled information coming out of Malaysia.

There is too much dust being kicked up by those scrambling to cover their own butts.

My guess? The co-pilot is involved, this was planned very well before hand.

The plane has either been hidden OR something went wrong with the hijack plot and it got steered into the ocean.

I cannot believe a humungous plane has just disappeared so thoroughly without human intervention.

Even if they turned off the transponders, the engines were still sending info back to Rolls Royce.

Cell phones were ringing when worried relatives dialled the number. This would not have happened if the phones had been destroyed in an explosion or by sinking.

The powers that be are keeping things quiet I believe. There must be information they have that we don't.

It's terrorism. Again.

Has anyone just watched the Ch5 (UK) documentary about this? I am just about to watch it on +1, wondering whether anything new revealed...

I am watching it too just now and I just watched another programme about it on sky1+1. I haven't seen anything that has not been already revealed or discussed here.

They also gave new details on the direction in which the unidentified aircraft was heading - following aviation corridors identified on maps used by pilots as N571 and P628 - routes taken by commercial planes flying from Southeast Asia to the Middle East or Europe.

bbm who would know that?

Military intelligence in all Countries capable.

Local intelligence in some areas.

Satellite intelligence is now global.

Does not mean what is in that article is what is true.

When the incident occurred, the plane abruptly climbed to 45,000ft then abruptly descended to about 23,000ft. It eventually re-climbed to 29,500ft heading out over the Indian Ocean. It appeared "erratic" but also appeared to be navigating to waypoints in a controlled manner and FLEW FIVE HOURS! How?

1). Hijackers took the plane, probably eventually crashed.
2). Crazy/suicidal/hijacker pilot(s) crashed the plane.

It's hard to imagine a mechanical anomaly that fits the turned-off transponder.
It's hard to imagine well-meaning pilots were still at the controls after the first few minutes of the incident.

3. how did they come up with these 2 possible flight paths over the Indian Ocean, in totally different directions, and the southern one seemingly going nowhere before they'd run out of fuel?

Most likely because those two zones probably do NOT have radar coverage whereas ALL OTHER possible plane trajectories probably DO. They could thus likely narrow it down to two possible tracks because any other track would have had the plane show up on radar. And it didn't.

I am starting to think there are some extremely powerful people, governments, organizations and corporations behind this....

So now it looks like that whole flying under the radar thing for hours was a rumor, right? It was caught on radar, but they weren't ready to confirm it. And it was going way up and down, not just dropping. Not sure why a suicide would involve that sort of erratic flying. And then that whole thing about the data being wrong becuase a plane couldn't drop that fast - if that's true, the data we do have can't be used to draw any real conclusions yet. I have a feeling there is more military radar info.

They are saying military radar captured the new information. Why didn't civil?

As if this search needs any more obstacles.... This article reports:

Quote: "An already difficult search task has been complicated in some areas by a choking haze caused by burning forest and farmland that has enveloped much of Malaysia and spilled into the Strait of Malacca."

:(

Wonder what caused the fire?

US Submarines in the Indian Ocean, along with Malaysian military, and US data. :twocents:

Wonder what caused the fire?

Yeah please tell me that they checked the source of that, if it started after the plane disappeared?
