Whoever is responsible for the plane's disappearance has to be real a Genius.
You don't come up with something that big just like that, since there had to be a tremendous amount of prearrangements to be made.

If they are alive, why has nobody used their phone?

If it's been hijacked, I highly doubt the passengers were allowed to keep their mobile phones, tablets etc. Besides, it depends on where they're kept captive, probably not in an inhabited area, but somewhere remote.

Is it true that the 777-200ER needs a 5 km airstrip or would it be possible (at least in theory) to reduce the braking distance?

Who all would know that there would be a time period that Malaysian ATC would lose contact with plane, and that Vietnamese would pick it up. Who would know when that occurred and for how long. I think that could be a key part of this investigation. Because that is when whatever happened happened!

At this point, there is no evidence of a crash. Just going by reports that the United States and Malaysia now believe it did in fact crash in the Indian Ocean. They are searching.....

I think the battery fire theory is a load of poppycock. If a fire broke out, why would the two communication devices be manually turned off 13 minutes apart? Why would the plane continue to fly for 4 more hours. Why would the pilot not alert ground control if he had at least 13 minutes of consciousness. Utter nonsense, IMO.

Even IF the large amounts on lithium batteries in the planes cargo hold caught fire..it still does not explain all the other unexplained events that took place with this plane/this flight..

If going into the ocean was not the plan they wouldn't take credit for it... it would have failed.

Terrorists don't work that way. They would take credit because at the core of every act is fear and a suicide mission is a one way ticket anyway so wouldn't be a failure. They would have met the objective.

I took the dangerous license to embed waypoints (DUKUN, MAPSO, and MINAT) between GIVAL and IGREX so as to imply MH370 following airway P628 and to give clarity to the theoretical flight path passing waypoint IGREX.

Again, one can dangerously theorize this possible flight path would carry MH370 towards Andaman Island over the Andaman Sea.

One may then dead reckon, using airway P628 or airway P761, continuing over the Bay of Bengal towards the interior of India.

So I am watching this show on NatGeo "Live In Space".
They are going around the globe showing places from the ISS.
I said to my son how crazy would it be if they got over the search area and just happened to see that plane somewhere (or something indicating the plane)?
He pretty much laughed at me :facepalm:

Did we ever clarify that ATC in Malaysia had made contact in the first few days I remember an article saying the airport control are the one who told vietnamese ATC they were about to enter thier space . People questioned why it was the airport and not the ATC.

It was kinda murky but I didnt look into if it was bad reporting or whatever.

I never looked into because ,really who thought it would be missing this long?

Exactly.
If the plane had caught fire because of the batteries, it would have exploded and/or crashed into the ocean near the point of last contact. It wouldn't have flown for another 4+ hours.

I am still blown away at the fact that a 209 foot plane can just disappear and NO ONE knows where it is! 5 threads for a missing plane?!

Right! I'm basing my theories off of the fact that there was a huge cell tower in Kota Bharu. If phones were on, which they probably were, then there is data! Pings! If the plane dropped altitude and was picked up by this huge station! It proves it went west!

Good question. I'm referring to the media reports attributed to unnamed, unauthorized US officials which seem more credible than statements attributed to non-US unnamed, unauthorized officials. You're right, none of it is actually evidence.

Experts say someone who knew had to manually enter the route and experts say its a commonly used navigational waypoint..

So can we get the specifics of the route..I know they say towards Europe and the middle east but is there a map with the route that we can see?

Even if the plane could be landed on a shorter airstrip, would it have enough runway to take off again, assuming the plan was to reuse the airplane for some nefarious purpose.

Do we know how much fuel they had and exactly how far it could take them?

This might be a very dumb question, and it most likely is... (however, my teachers always told me there's no such thing, right?) but is it possible that another country or terrorist group hijacked the plane in some self-sacrificing plan/test to determine if they could successfully carry out some type of sneak attack on another country without being detected in the future? I obviously have zero knowledge about radar/military/plane/sneak attack capabilities so I have no idea if something like that would even be in the realm of possibilities?

Can we take this as fact/truth, though?
I can't see the x-ray machines being down at an international airport.
Is that tweet saying that MH370 was the ONLY flight to not have it's cargo scanned? If so, that definitely puts a twist on things! That could mean the airline/airport is involved.

All the X-ray machines were down? I'd think that would result in delayed flights until they were fixed, not in loading unscanned cargo.
