Actually it is her dad who served as the Chief Steward on MH370, Andrew Nari. Her reference to him serving everyone I think is her hanging on to the hope he is still alive.
I believe her Twitter account was linked in MSM. You can Twitter search and find it as well as pictures with her dad. So sad!

That's a really good question. It's possible that people called/texted them from outside the country to let them know, right?
