Man seen carrying diaper clad baby

Dr. Know, you would have called 911 as I would have, and most of posters here on WS. WTH?? Did these people think it was "NORMAL" to be carrying a little baby around at all these hours and not EVEN think something was VERY, VERY, VERY WRONG?? OMG No one even cares anymore, do they????

I live in a big city. My area is an eclectic type near the univeristy but not "in" the university housing area. I've seen a lot and we have a neighborhood watch group of over 350 so we just put the word out via email or talk with our neighbors. Yes, I would be reporting something like this at least to my group or the LE due to the hours and no clothing on the baby.

Heck last week we brought our gd's cat here to live and he freaked. Over 24 hours later he wandered home finally with the help of "Pretty Kitty" our neighbors cat lol. But the word was out in my hood to the 350 or more who are members. Love it. We do watch and report.

I guess no one wants to get involved these days. Look at what happened to the little girl in China who lay bleeding on the sidewalk and people just walked around her without helping. She's dead. No one cared.

Yes, who knew. I have a name for these people, however, I cannot post it here, but you know what I mean. txs...

Dr. Know, thank God for people like you! It matters not if it is a cat, dog, child. You have to stand up and get involved and frigg--n make it all matter, for EVERY LIVING THING!

Again, thank you Dr. Know.....

I heard her say on Vinnie's program that she looked out the blinds because she saw her husband standing next to his car looking one direction and then turning his head as if his eyes were following something and then she looked in that direction and did see the man, they both saw him. The husband later told her he turned as if he was going into a house so he stopped looking at him. Now that I have heard myself the witnesses I think LE made a mistake in "dismissing" as Vinnie said they did. Why can't LE see that it might play into their scenario, which obviously is that Baby Lisa died in the house. Neither witnesses said the baby seemed to be alive, just that the man was carrying a baby.

Patty G has posted the video of this interview up in the media thread Post #107.

Very good interview, really helps in understanding what exactly happened during that first sighting.

This story is big news. So, if some guy was really walking around, carrying a baby, in the middle of the night, he would know he was being talked about in the news. So, wouldn't this guy call the police, and explain himself, and identify the baby he was carrying?

Unless...the guy was really carrying Lisa off, somewhere? Then he wouldn't call the police.

There are large infant dolls up to 26 inches long. However, they are not easily found at a moment's notice. Does DB collect dolls, or know someone who does?

It's my guess if there was a man walking the streets with a baby; it was not a doll.

If I had seen the guy....I would have asked him if he needed help.

If this was a credible lead, wouldn't LE have released a composite sketch?

Not it they already know who it was carrying a baby around the neighborhood.

just my O

I thought about a cabbage patch doll. I cant quit thinking about this baby either. The doctor would have to sedate me if it was my kid. I hope they find this baby but something tells me this is not going to happen. Im not completely convinced the parents are involved either. If it were just 1 neighbor but 3 tells me a bad guy might have taken her. I dont think DB could get someone to stick their neck out and play along with a felony. The bad guy scenerio seems more reasonable. Im praying hard for that baby!

I am having to discount the 4am sighting because anybody on a bike knows the difference between 45 and 60 degrees. It was not 45 that night. It was beautiful out. Yes too chilly to have a baby out with no clothes, but a person who rides a bike usually takes note of the temp. It did get down to 45 at night the next week or so, but not that night.

There were "supposed sightings" of Laci Peterson and we all know how that ended up......

I wonder if the mystery man who helped DB out had to leave in a hurry - maybe JI showed up around midnight while on break. So, he grabs the deceased baby clad only in a diaper and takes off down the street. No time for blanket, coat, etc.

Someone said drinking buddy neighbor's husband fits the description of mystery man. I suppose DB may have reached out to them vs she was having an affair with the dude(all speculation)---as she has pursued prior neighbors husbands according to military wives speaking out. Even JI commented "Someone who cheated...." when asked who would do this. Who knows... could be DB friend, lover, relative or drug dealer? She had to contact this person to help out either by email, text, call or knock on the door. I think she didnt take the car since the kids would know she left. The man was only carrying baby, not 3 phones - so, she must have initially hid the phones by the home.

IMO

When speculating when this all happened, we rarely go to the time frame where the neighborly drinking pal was there. What if this friend was there when something happened and feels partially responsible.

What if said neighbor is the same neighbor that "Seen" the man carrying a baby at midnight? What if the reason she has been interviewed four times is not just about the alleged sighting but also about the evening spent with DB?

We don't know who drank with DB, how long she was there, only a time alleged when she left and that even though DB says, "we didn't compare notes," she somehow knows that the neighbor "saw the lights go out" when she left.

I could be wrong but my $$$ is on the neighbor whose hubby spotted the man with the baby as being the drinking buddy, too. In the very first interview, she almost looks like she is going to laugh. In the second interview (snippet) we see her on the sidewalk and a burly white guy with his back to the camera and someone going into a house behind her (can't find that snippet, now.) Then we have the more recent clip with her and again she seems like the cat who ate the canary. I want to see the HLN/Vinnie interview. Anyone have the link?

Her husband has NEVER appeared on camera and AFAIK neither of them has been identified by name.

Was the mystery man seen from behind, from the side or from the front in an of these sightings? Was he wearing a hat/cap? Did he have a bag? Watch? Tattoos? Glasses? Mustache or beard? Did he light colored hair, long hair, short hair, receding hair?

I agree with In da Middle that a man who rides a motorcycle would know the temp that night and how cold it was. Did the sound of his motorcycle stir the baby in any way?

A baby around 10 months old can hold their head on a person's shoulder and have their head sideways (usually with drool rolling down)on a person's shoulder if they are asleep. It's easier to hold a baby and walk around with them like this if the baby is asleep. So the baby's head and face would have been seen by the witnesses. Also the guy's hand would not have covered the entire head of a 10-11 month old baby. The head is very big by this time. Did the baby have hair, or did the baby still have the 'bald' look? JMO

So, was the man with the baby wearing a "wife beater" type t-shirt or one with sleeves? Do we know that detail?

  • #494
The man appeared calm, did he make eye contact? What was his walking pace like? Was he rubbing the baby's back? Repositioning the baby's body in any way?

BBM her name was at the bottom of one of the news clips (if the reporter got it right).

Just wondering, does anyone find it strange that someone "GOES" to work at 12:15 AM. I haven't heard of many jobs that start at 12:30 AM or 1:00 AM. It's just odd, but I guess he could have gotten a late start.

I would not have called 911. I would have assumed it was a loving papa who was down on his luck. Car broke down, lost his home and is looking for a warm place to sleep, or baby has a fever and he's walking to his mom's for help... something.

As I stated before, I may have handed him a blanket or coat if I had one in my car, but my heart would have gone empathetic, not sinister. I think when you get used to living in cities with poverty and homelessness, you just assume that's what you're dealing with. And if he looked clean, etc, you'd assume it a temporary down on luck sort of thing.

I don't think everyone down on their luck should have their kids taken away. I grew up in the foster care system, so I have a reason for feeling this way. Does that mean I don't care? Because I think it just means I care differently than you care and make different assumptions.

I'm not saying the sightings happened- I'm saying that I think maybe you're using too narrow a scope with which to discredit them.

We need to put all three or four links of this woman's interviews up so that they can easily be compared. I can only find three of them. The first, the third and the fourth [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taPnDVMhfAk&feature=related"]Lisa Irwin: HLN News 10/21/11 Part 2 - YouTube[/ame] 9:00 minute mark.

ETA:
I call this one Video #4
There are two from the first day (i have found both now. 1st is a brief sound bite 10/04/2011 NBC Action News. Here her name is shown under her statement. Video 2 from what appears to be the same day, we see what some folks think is her husband leaning against the car and facing away from camera. # 3 she is in a black shirt and number four the one linked above/HLN)

And THIS is why people don't want to get involved anymore! :floorlaugh:

Not picking on you, totally fair theory and all... just funny when we're on the heals of discussing why someone wouldn't call 911.

As sweet as I thought motorcycle man looked, I'm with middle here that he's probably well meaning but off base.
