In 2016, Shomaker called Detective Downs to ask for financial trouble, she said. She was in financial trouble at the time, she said.
In February 2016, Downs was able to help Shomaker with her rent. She received and has been receiving $400 each month to help with rent, she said.
"He acted like it wasn't nothing to him. I don't know he had a little chuckle after he said it. He had no remorse," Shomaker said of Rodgers demeanor after he admitted to the killing.
Rodgers' nickname was "Jimmy The Hammer," Shomaker said and he expected to make $10,000 from the killing, Shomaker said. The blue jumpsuit Rodgers asked Shomaker to throw out the car window was from Rodgers' work, Shomaker said.
Mark Sievers' Defense Attorney Micheal Mummert is now cross examining Shomaker.

"He chuckled [after telling her about the murder] like he had no remorse."
Shorter direct from the state on Shomaker. Defense up now.
