Parking in front of a fire hydrant is the bigger issue. That's where she parked facing the wrong direction. She did both. She didn't just park facing the wrong direction.

I can't imagine that would be the case. If she had been working I think they would have been in pairs, not working alone. Much too dangerous for a pretty young woman to be out working alone.

I suspect it was her youth and kind heart that made her easy to manipulate.

I'm starting to think that she knew him through her voluntary work somehow , tbh sex work was my intial thought not because Decara came across as doing that but the MO of a sex worker will be approach a vehicle and after negotiation of terms will get in the clients car . ( probably watched pretty woman too many times ) so rather than character it was action

Someone mentioned if DaCara was doing a good deed as part of her voluntary work , I didn't think of this angle but was she part of a community outreach group for depressed or suicidal individuals ,even if she was the protocol is to encourage the client to call the services or just listen on a dedicated phone-in

I think there's a 3 hour gap, but her family would know where she was since they knew right away where her vehicle was parked.

She worked for a non-profit. I posted the links upthread. The State government created a program for eligible students to apply for the Maryland Service Year Option (minimum wage). Her assignment was at Nonprofit Prince George (also linked earlier). It was not possible to figure out what type of work she was doing.

What if she was at the Galaxy Club and lost something that the suspect found (stole?) ... and he contacted her to say that he had something of hers ... so she met him to retrieve it?

I noticed that as well, going to maps and texting in galaxy night club it will pin that location but when you go to that location and pin the building it comes as coco cabana.

Hope that makes sense.

and why not drive her car into the Dollar store parking lot? Her parking her car and walking that distance along the kind of streets those appear to be is just incomprehensible to me. IF they had made arrangements to go somewhere why didn't he drive behind her until she found a place to park? WHY was she walking?

Yeah, I would never walk alone at that hour in that area. Heck, or just about any area. There is just so much detail of what happened that we're all missing. I wish we could get more of that information to put pieces together better.

I probably would have been more willing when I was 19 to walk late at night but probably not that late unless it was from one house to another in a small dense locality from where I lived but not in an unknown area and especially if I could drive and stay in the safety of my car .

I honestly don't believe she wanted the perp to know what car she drove but if she was that nervous why meet at the hour when most folk have gone to bed .

As my father used to say not much good happens after 12am as its either people making their way home drunk or people on the way out to do nefarious things .

If something had fallen off and she heard it, then parked and walked to look for it . . . Then he offered a ride back to her vehicle?

Years ago, a guy ran a "good Samaritan scam" in Knoxvillle, TN, after the World's Fair (prob during too). He clipped fuel lines on select vehicles, then followed those disabled cars. When the driver pulled over, he had been following and appeared magically at the window, dressed in a clean, pressed Texaco uniform. He offered to help, checked under the hood, went to get the part, returned with a box, "fixed" the vehicle, then accepted money for the imaginary part and time and graditude. In this case, no one was hurt.

If HERNANDEZ-MENDEZ had done something to her car and was watching from the Dollar Store parking lot . . . But why would she even go into the Dollar Store parking lot in the first place??? From the website, it closed at 10 p.m. I wonder if there are enough cameras to know where she had been before she parked her vehicle the final time?

From the time she left her house, she could not have run into the Dollar Store on her way to the club. It makes no sense that she parked, left her vehicle and walked that distance. Even if she had a problem with her car, why not call her Dad?

The 2 times she is known to have interacted with anyone other than the perp are for gas and a text to reply to dad these add up to max timing of 10 / 15 mins . That's a whole 4 hours and 45 mins we have been told nothing about . So what was she doing in that time ? How far is Rigg road from her home ,hardly a 4 hour drive ???

Had she been interacting with this man for more time and LE only have the cctv from the last interaction

Yes I'm thinking she went into the club , I know youths nowadays just pay through phone apps so prehaps LE are just not releasing that info just yet .

I feel the perp mentioned the club for a reason
