According to post #41 the article linked, says Gray had a crushed voice box, he may have been talking going in the van, but obviously something happened in the van to cause that.

Just wondering if he could have done whatever to himself to cause the damage. Like throwing himself against something. I don't know, so may things I hear how these guys do things to harm themselves to make it look like LE did it. Not saying this is the case here either, IDK?

But there is no visible damage to him from what I understand. If he was throwing himself against something, one would think there would be visible damage to his face, like bruising.

This one has me perplexed.

I think he sustained broken vertebrae during an arrest, and then his spinal cord was damaged by the broken vertebrae.
There was recently an Indian fella walking around in his neighborhood not knowing much English. Neighbor called police, during an arrest the guy's spinal cord was damaged. Police pushed him to the ground to arrest him and he sustained spinal cord injuries. He is partially paralyzed (not dead, though). But it might not necessarily take that much force. Maybe in this case his back was bent in unusual angle when handcuffs were put on him?

You would not necessarily see bruising and depending on which vertebrae are affected, It would not have to involve his head at all.

Inital reports (we don't have autopsy yet) say that he sustained injury to the larnyx or voice box as well as the spinal injuries.

The larynx due to it's position is usually pretty well protected. Under the chin, by the neck bones and muscles. Even
strangling someone doesn't often crush the voice box unless there is extrordinary force. The spinal cord is actually more suseptible to injury than the larnyx. That is why this reported injury is more interesting to me thn the spinal injury.

Here is a dashcam video/article of the Sureshbhai Patel takedown that left him paralyzed. Looks like he was pushed onto the grass.

looks like he needed an ambulance. I wonder if he was hurt and then they made it worse by moving him like that. Thats horrible.

I'll go with that. It also looks like he was refusd medical treatment as well. But then again, this looks like a police matter, and we should probably stay out of it.

No rubber necking folks.

That's what we do here at WS.

I don't understand what you're saying here... So we should look the other way when it appears police may be injuring someone? Or...?

I'm not a mind reader, but I think Ibiz is being sarcastic. And kind of a play on the way police kind of move people on at an accident scene.

Police Union Attorney and other bigwigs with The Fraternal Order of Police, Baltimore City Lodge #3 are holding a news conference, it is on CNN.

Union attorney for the officers is on CNN. According to him 5 of the officers gave their statements the first day. One officer has not given a statement. The attorney made the point that if he had been contacted the first day that none of the officers would have given statements.

I kind of thought so after I replied, but sometimes it's hard to tell sometimes haha!

Absolutely ! There comes a point where we have to stop minding our own business. This is what I like about WS.

Interesting dyanamics on this trio. Attorney and one representative are speaking out. They both happen to be white. The second representative (who happens to be black) is not talking. Is that personality showing, or is it a sign that maybe he isn't totally in agreement?

Has he spoken at all? Attempted to speak and not been able to finish? That's interesting, IMO

GAH I wish I could follow it live!! Thank you for the updates!

He is speaking now. Talking about the tensions in the area, how some people they get fine. But there has been increasing tension with the criminal element (he got very vehement about the criminal element.)

After he began speaking I kind of feel like that is his personality. Quiet unless he needs to speak out. But not afraid to speak out if he needs to.
