He's not necessarily bearing his weight though. He could feel his leg was under him and was able to push himself up, but that's not the same as bearing weight and walking. JMO

If you look at the nbc link I re-posted up thread, he is standing and weight bearing, though torqued to the left.

Actually, he is torqued to the left when they put him in the police van. Something happened prior to getting in that van IMO.

I think what they are saying is that he didn't appear to have a medical emergency prior to being placed in the van and by the time he arrived at the police station he was having the medical emergency. Perhaps the other prisoner revealed more info about what happened. They said they are not releasing the other prisoner name because he is a witness in a criminal investigation.

I didn't see them actually remove the taser wires in the video, so he could very well have been tased and we didn't get to see it. However, the police said he was arrested without incident. Does that mean he stopped running and gave up?

They said there was no injury other than the neck and LE said they didn't use their tasers.

What really makes me think there is a spin machine at work here is their obvious attempt to make it appear (this now dead arrestee thrown onto floor of can hands shackled behind his back) like this damage to his neck happened inside that van.....I say B$
I have to remind you all, this deceased man had been in hospital almost a week..after being transported to hospital from Police Station....So they all know full well what that weeklong stay, treatment and findings were/are. This continuation of with-hold information under the guise of "Investigation Integrity" rings hollow..They are trying to spin as much as they can to point at victim and denying this man, who was arrested without incident is dead...:scared:

They knew before he died they did NOT do their due diligence, that they had injured him prior to "Paddy Wagon" and their rough handling of him post that take down exacerbated that neck fracture and larynx crush ..(never mind all the swelling of surrounding soft tissues choked his air supply)...It's not a wonder driver said he looked irate back there...I think anyone fighting to breath would be anxious and struggling...then what did they do? Stopped van..dragged him out onto street and shackled his legs..then threw back into van like a sack of potatoes ..ALL this without head/neck immobilized for stability ...

The only transparency I'm seeing right now is delaying as long as they can to figure out HOW they can frame things to make it look like an accident ..not intentional SMH :gaah:

There are more protests/marches going on right now. Roads are being blocked by those protesting. There is even a road blocked by children, little ones, sitting in the middle of the road. This is already an area that has a lot of tensions between citizens and LE, they are very mistreating of police.

Just to give an idea of the neighborhood, Gilmor Homes, where the arrest took place is low-income housing and is a very high crime area. A shooting happened today, right in front of an officer, about 3 blocks police station where the protests were taking place. The protests have the potential to turn into something more serious given the mistrust and a few bad apples that live in the area. Hopefully it remains peaceful as it has been.

Gray died a week after his arrest. According to a timeline police released Thursday, officers stopped Gray at 8:39 a.m. on April 12, and he then tried to run away. They caught him one minute later and arrested him, and he was placed in the prisoner transport wagon at 8:54 a.m., bound for the Western District station. At 9:24 a.m., an ambulance was called to the station to treat Gray

One thing is for sure, he was able body to run 2 blocks before being stopped/apprehended, after that and at the point of the video that I have seen I don't see what could have happened to him as far as his breathing goes. I saw were his legs were in between the front tire of the bike that could have caused him to have difficulty walking but as far as what his cause of death being spinal/throat? I think that may have happened in the van. jmo idk

Aha! So, a preliminary autopsy has been released but the real full and complete autopsy has not been released to the family or the public or whoever is supposed to get it. - CNN Erin Burnett Show

Also I heard earlier that Freddie Gray's family will be having a second autopsy done. Do not know if that is true or not, and I have only had CNN on for the last few hours.

I think they are both correct. They called EMS at the station but the medical emergency happened during the transport to the station.

The way I am thinking they may not be sure. So not lying.

I have never seen it, but how do police on bikes take down a suspect? If they stop the bike and get off they are likely to lose the suspect. If the launch themselves from the bike, they could be injured. But if they got in front and circled around they could use their bike, arms and legs to impede the suspect's progress. Say sticking their arm out and letting the suspect run into it. Could knock the suspect down, could knock the breathe out of him.

If they did this it might get to be routine to them. Thus their report that he was taken down "without force or incident." But if the heights align just right, if the angle is just right and the speed is just right instead of catching him in the chest, they caught him in the neck for instance. They could have done this manuver many times without incident. So when it turned out Mr Gray was injured, they may not have considered their take down method.

The way it is being said on CNN, the taser was taken out, but the taser wasn't used. They have said that several times now on CNN.

I will be surprised if it remains peaceful.

My hope is that they will be able to remember their loved ones are in that crowd, that they will want to continue the protests as long as necessary, and that they will "police" themselves to prevent violence.

Not likely maybe, but I can hope.
