Poor thing. I wonder if she would have been paralyzed, had she lived. "Multiple, separated C1 fractures". Very top of the spinal cord. I wonder if she had landed near the top of her head to cause the spinal fractures? Someone mentioned GHB, but from what I understand, GHB is metabolized rather quickly and usually doesn't show up on a tox screen. If they were smoking pot, THC should have showed up.

Once the report goes up, anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think she could have survived her skull to spinal column fractures.

Now, I know several people who have had C1 fractures, and they heal with varying degrees of success. A C1 fracture won't kill you. It is the amount of separation, the tearing and destruction of the nerves and structure of the spinal column that makes this a very serious injury. Combined with a separated basilar skull fracture...ugly.

I gree. Certainly not with spinal fluid leakage.

Now that's different info than what's on the UDRS & Doenetwork sites. It mentions several fillings. :waitasec:

The report doesn't actually say that she has no fillings. It just says "the teeth are in a good state of repair".

oops-my bad. I assumed dental work would have been noted.

Well if it wasn't noted, where did the other websites get that info? They would have got their information from the same ME report, right? :waitasec:

Perhaps there is also a forensic dentist's report that we don't have access to?

Good point. But then there's another puzzle piece we don't have! I do recall reading that a forensic dentist was called in and that's how they determined her age between 13-15. Wouldn't that report have become part of the ME's report?

Ya know, all in all, she seems to have been pretty well cared for prior to her death. Even if she did have fillings, someone made sure she got them. I would venture to say she had not been a street kid for too long. My gut tells me that she had not been away from her family or foster care for long before this happened.

Which makes it all the more sad, don't you think? the poor thing, not gone long, apparently well taken care of and no one reports her missing or is looking for her? How sad is that?

I think we were waiting for Absinthe to fax it to Christine to scan it or something? I would love to see it.

Yes - so sad. I have gone over it in my mind a million times trying to come up with a reason why no one seems to be looking for her. Under what circumstances could such a young and lovely girl be completely on her own in the world? Orphan? Foster kid that fell through the cracks? Drug addict parents? IDK. When you're part of a close and loving family and a mom who will do anything to protect her children, it's really difficult to think outside of that box.

Oh wow, I didn't even see that the ME report was on here!

Someone had asked for my help earlier, so if there's anything I can define, let me know! I see that there are other medical specialists on here as well.. great!

Being nosy again. What police report experience, believe? I don't recall there being any problem with posting it, was there? Or was that behind the scenes?

As I recall - it had something to do with the fact that some of the names mentioned in the PR were not necessarily connected to the case itself - hospital personnel, people who were questioned, etc. IIRC

That, and wasn't there a stamp of some kind indicating something about 3rd party access? I also recall the decision was made not to post it publically to ensure the ability to have access to these type of reports in the future.

There is a forensic anthropologist's report included in the ME report. She studied MJD's bone fusion and growth to determine her age, I believe.
