Poor thing. I wonder if she would have been paralyzed, had she lived. "Multiple, separated C1 fractures". Very top of the spinal cord. I wonder if she had landed near the top of her head to cause the spinal fractures? Someone mentioned GHB, but from what I understand, GHB is metabolized rather quickly and usually doesn't show up on a tox screen. If they were smoking pot, THC should have showed up.
Once the report goes up, anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think she could have survived her skull to spinal column fractures.
Now, I know several people who have had C1 fractures, and they heal with varying degrees of success. A C1 fracture won't kill you. It is the amount of separation, the tearing and destruction of the nerves and structure of the spinal column that makes this a very serious injury. Combined with a separated basilar skull fracture...ugly.
