Deputies say the letter contained information about a possible burial site for Haleigh Cummings, the 6-year-old girl reported missing from Satsuma, Florida.

Detectives say they followed up on the information provided, but the tip did not lead to Haleigh. Detectives say this tip, as have the other more than 4,000 received in this case, has thus far not led to the recovery of Haleigh.

Detectives say the woman who delivered the tip told them that she was a messenger delivering the information for someone else. Her name, as well as the location of the burial site, is not being released.

Haleigh Update: BNN: 2nd Jail House Letter Surfaces
Sunday, 27 September 2009 9:00PM
<snipped>
After one Putnam County authority called 97.3 The Sky's decision to make public a jail house letter from a Putnam County inmate and party pal of a missing girl's stepmother "a farce," another letter has surfaced repeating the same story line of the questioning she endured about a signed affidavit describing the child's fate.

97.3 The Sky has only reported the contents of the letter and has focused on what Prevatt relays as information she has been questioned about as it relates to Pytko's signed affidavit.

According to Putnam County Chief Deputy Rick Ryan "Again, we don't care anything about this letter, and we're not going to waste our time on it. Even if it was our theory, we're just not going to talk about it."

The Sky was given the letter by private investigator William Cobra Staubs at about the same time Blogger News Network received their copy.

This second letter reinforces what was said in the first letter to her boyfriend about one of the theories police are investigating.

Cadaver dog search in Haleigh Cummings case does not find her
Specific tip prompts searchers to go over ground already covered
Story updated at 3:27 PM on Monday, Sep. 28, 2009
<snipped>
Investigators using cadaver-sensing dogs to check a tip describing the burial site for Putnam County’s missing Haleigh Cummings did not find her there.

The site near the Satsuma doublewide mobile home where the kindergartner disappeared in February had been checked before, said Capt. Dick Schauland of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. He said the search was retraced last week because the tip provided directions, distances, and angles to turn.

“This tip was kind of specific,” he said.

Schauland said a woman who dropped the tip off at offices of the St. Augustine Record Wednesday later told detectives she was passing it on from a retired FBI agent who is in his early 80s. He said she did not name the man.

“Hopefully she will get him to talk to us,” Schauland said. The woman’s name has not been released.

Since the pond search, two jailhouse letters surfaced written by a friend of Misty Cummings describing a party where Haleigh ingested drugs and died and was taken to a pond.

Schauland said interviews with Prevatt were prompted by leads they were already following.

Latest Tip Not Haleigh Burial Site
St. Augustine Tip Among 4,000 Checked Out By Investigators
POSTED: Monday, September 28, 2009
UPDATED: 7:48 pm EDT September 28, 2009

The woman who dropped off the letter came forward, but investigators said she told them she was the messenger for a man who claimed to be an FBI informant with special psychic abilities. Detectives were told the woman does not personally know the family or have any information about Haleigh's whereabouts. They would like to talk to the man who wrote the letter.

The sheriff's office would not discuss the location the letter claimed was a burial site. Schauland said the specific place the letter mentioned had been searched before, but they returned with cadaver dogs and found no trace of a body or a grave.

Full Contents of Haleigh Mystery Letter Revealed
Created: 9/29/2009 3:43:29 AM
Updated: 9/29/2009 4:56:56 AM
<snipped>
The letter dropped off at the St. Augustine Record by a mystery woman provided investigators with step by step instructions to find the grave of Haleigh Cummings.

The St. Augustine Record, our news partner, has now published the entire contents of the letter it received last week.

Investigators on Monday said the letter contained specific information about a site where Haleigh may be buried.

The St. Augustine Record reports in today's edition just how specific:

"Check the back of father's mobile home. From the right end of the mobile home extending out continue for 540 yards straight. At that point go north 12 yards. Dig 2-3 feet, will strike metal covering an old well, check inside, black plastic garbage bag. Circumstances extend statewide and beyond."

The typewritten letter, according to the St. Augustine Record, is signed by the initials "SAM."

'Mystery letter' leads nowhere
Searchers following directions find no sign of HaLeigh's gravesite
Posted: Tuesday, September 29, 2009
Updated: 12:05 AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2009
<snipped>
Searchers following the directions in a letter brought to The St. Augustine Record last week couldn't find what the tipster promised: HaLeigh Cummings' grave, supposedly a few hundred yards from her home.

Below the typewritten directions is a rectangular box representing the Satsuma trailer HaLeigh Cummings was living in on Feb. 9, the night she disappeared.

Broken lines lead off to the side of the drawn trailer. More broken lines lead upward, then stop at a circle.

"Check the back of father's mobile home," the letter read. "From the right end of the mobile home extending out continue for 540 yards straight. At that point go north 12 yards. Dig 2-3 feet, will strike metal covering an old well, check inside, black plastic garbage bag.

"Circumstances extend statewide and beyond."

The typed initials at the bottom are "SAM."

She told detectives that she dropped the letter off for someone else, an elderly man who had been an FBI informant "with special abilities," Schauland said Monday.

"SAM" was the informant's code name, the woman wrote in an e-mail to the paper on Saturday.

Haleigh Cummings Missing Case: Arrests to Put Pressure on Misty Croslin-Cummings?
Croslin Family Arrests, Jailhouse Interrogations, Sheriff's Office Insinuations -- Are Police Putting the "Squeeze" on Misty Croslin-Cummings?
September 29, 2009
<snipped>
What is going on with the Croslin family? Why did Misty Croslin suddenly feel the need to exonerate herself? What did Ronald Cummings and Hank, Jr. get into a fistfight over?

And what is going on with the investigative side of the equation? Why all the arrests? The people arrested certainly deserve to be arrested, but so many arrested in the same family during such a short span of time, plus all the other people brought in a questioned, smacks as too coincidental. It also smacks of something known as a "squeeze," putting pressure on the suspect through the use of others to gain information, playing each off the other and against each other.
And it just might be working...

This past week Misty Croslin-Cummings herself disappeared and resurfaced in Orlando at a theme park this past week -- then disappeared again. She and Ronald Cummings, her husband of six months, had a very public dispute which ended in her leaving their home in a fit of temper.

Are we seeing Misty Croslin simply attempting to get away and unwind? Or are we seeing Misty Croslin in the beginning stages of making a run for it? Maybe even a last fun-fling before a full confession?

The question is: Will someone break? Will there be an admission, a confession that enables athorities to find Haleigh Cummings, or at least her remains? Are we about to see an end to this nearly 8-month-old missing person case?

Haleigh Cummings Update: Lisa Croslin Extradition
Wednesday, 30 September 2009 3:09PM
<snipped>
97.3 The SKY has learned from the Davidson County, TN Clerk regarding Lisa Croslin’s hearing:

*Lisa Croslin’s hearing Wednesday resulted in Croslin signing waivers so that FL authorities can come and pick her up

*A status court date of 10/14/09 was entered - FL has 10 days to pick up Croslin so this date will not likely result in another hearing in Davidson assuming FL comes to take her back to Putnam County

*The waiver is an extradition waiver required in order for her to be transferred

*The $100K bond was changed – because Croslin signed the waivers they changed the bond to an “open court” bond – it’s for security reasons, so a bondsman can’t bond her out before FL officials come to get her

Employees at Byrd's Housing Center off U.S. 17 said their sign - "Our prayers are with the Haleigh Cummings family to bring Haleigh home" - went down only once about two months ago after the child had been reported missing on Feb. 10. Then a woman stopped at the business to say how much it had touched her that they had kept it posted for so long. The message went back up and has been flashing ever since, sales manager Jan Harrison said.

"I think the family needs some closure, whether it be good or bad," Harrison said.
